It seems that everyone is set on the film being live action. Deciding who would be best suited to play the characters.

What and Anim? or CGI?

You them have the freedom of artwork instead of actors profiles. Working alongside BL Dreamworks could do something out of this world!!

All you would need then are the voices.

It's easier to find a voice than a face.

Are you sure that you're not in thall to Jerry Katzenberger, or Steven Speilberg?

But seriously... I see what you're saying, the only way you have of guarenteeing the visual look of a movie is to animate it. I especially like the idea of making Necroscope a la Urutsokidoji & Wiked City.

But my only fear is that by not making it live-action you will lose that essential viscerality of the movie.

Ok.

This may be draging it down hill a bit...no quite a lot!
There has been films made using both CGI and live action. Unfortunatly neither very serious to the cause.

Jurassic Park (God forvive me!!) and Toy Soldiers. Neither are great examples....but look at Steamboat Willie. The little bastard now runs half the world.

A Necroscope movie done via anime might not be too bad at all. Anyone seen "Vampire Hunter D"? The head vampire was a bit boring but a lot of the other monsters were very gruesome in appearance.

It's really nice to see people pitch in. Especially since I'm the new kid on the block.

Something I didn't put in before. Which is why I mentioned Anim and CGI is this...

The Wamphyri are already known for their devastating good looks, coupled with the wrages the shape changes. But this can all be covered with make-up.
But what about the way they move?
A flowing graceness, gliding effortlessly across the floor, flowing to thier feet in one smooth motion, etc...

How do you get an actor to do that?

I don't know if any one has ever seen "Todd McFarlane's Spawn" on HBO but if a live action version of Necroscope cannot be done for what ever reason I feel that getting McFarlane's production to do the movie or series version of it.
"Spawn" is a very dark and violent adult animated series that would be suited to the Necroscope series perfectly.

:P

True, McFarlane's stuff is pretty outstanding... but he already has a Vamp in his franchise - of sorts (where did Spawn get his power from?)

But a new kid on the block, with new ideas and a new approach would make it as cutting edge as we all want to...

In hoping that I do not offend any of the Anime fans..Please..do not have the movie become a cartoon! Personally I think Brian's work deserves much more than to have his wonderful characters turned into big eyed, wide mouthed cartoon characters who couldn't raise a hair on a arm in shock, much less in terror. Saw Anime once...that was enough for me.

Ahem..that is just my thought on the subject. *Ducks from the flying Anime film containers that will more than likely be thrown at her from someone*

I think I have started to mature a little in the past few weeks..I posted a note in Movie-things to consider. I sat and watched the Mummy on DVD, then went on to watch the special effects feature. I will place what little soul I have left in the future of CGI effects mixed with live action.

Got to agree with Titus that mixing the two mediums is probably the only way around trying to do the subject any justice.
