A Grim riddle

This riddle is a bit dark, but even more so if you figure out the answer:

3 friends are shipwrecked on a desert island. One day, a few weeks after 2 of them get home, they go into a restaraunt and one of them orders albatross. After he orders it, his companion whispers something to him. The man who ordered the albatross now goes home and shoots himself in the head. What did his friend say and why was it enough to drive him to suicide?

I think I know the answer...depending on how long they were on the island, and what was fit for human consumption there.
