I posted in another topic about perhaps trying to get a game company interested in a massive online Necroscope game. I know Necroscope isn't as popular as another future online game (Highlander), but the concept itself should be able to draw players. Hell, it should be much more fun than current online games like Everquest and Ultima Online.

The possibilities are great...you could be an Esper, Wamphyri, Szgany...anything from the books really...

I do realize this is mostly a pipe dream, but it would be kickass if it were to happen.

...ahhh imagine tossing a vanquished enemy into your vats for the provisioning!

Well, I know a few people, myself included, who would be most interested in playing this type of game. If you want to do it like a chat based game, check out the White Wolf homepage ( http://www.white-wolf.com ) for ideas.

Actually there is already a Multiplayer online game for the Necroscope series called The Last Aerie Mud. Now it is a mud so that means its text based like real old dos games but its still pretty fun and adictive once you figure out how things work. Here is the homepage if anybody is interested
http://www.lastaeriemud.com/

and the actually mud itself is

darkside.dod.net on port 1212

You will need a program like Zmud or just plain telnet will work to get on it.

Yeah the website is rather pathetic and hasn't been updated for a long long time but it does have some usefull stuff on it.

Did you change the port number from 23 to 1212? Thats about the only reason I can think of for it not working. You should just be able to click on The Last Aerie on the left below home on the home page and it will bring up telnet and log you on with out having to set it up. I really wouldn't suggest using telnet anyway. Its doesn't support color and many other features like triggers that become important if you actually decide to play. You can go here http://www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/down.asp
and download zmud. I would suggest getting the old 4.62 version just because the others quit working after 30 days where as the 4.62 version doesn't.

Don't be affraid to ask for help once you get on if you don't know what your doing. All you have to do is type ooc and your question or comment and everybody will see it, ooc stands for out of character btw.

btw for newbies I think the easiest race and class is Szgany and Ranger, Rogue isn't to bad either.

Yeah, I used to play muds back in the day...started out on JediMUD..which had an area called the Wamphyri Aerie...needless to say I knew it inside out...never got tired of killing Karen for that white leather dress...hehe

However, I'm more talking a real game..like everquest.

am afraid I dont know anything about online games. I'm so out of touch that the newest game system I have is a super nintendo, which hasnt been turned on in months, and as for puter games? the newest games I have are freddie the fish and toonstruck (which I've gotten hung up on, just cant seem to get past this point I got to, and so quit playing. c'est la vie) but the idea of a necroscope game does sound wonderful, even for a thrall like me.

Dude, twud kick-@$$!!

Yah, you and the guys and Muds....cackle!! I'd probably get fired for the amount of time that I'd spend on a Necroscope On-Line game.

Cackle, ROFL, Talk to Leonard about having DF doing a CD-ROM game.....cackle
