At home I am using 98 or 2000... 2000 is great. At work I am using NT which is also great.

Hate 9x versions of windows... but sometimes you don't have a choice. Been playing with Linux at home, which I also like.

Win98 SE is what I've been running for quite some time - but last night I partitioned off a section of my main drive and installed the RC1 of WinXP Pro....was late when I finished though so I haven't had time to play yet..

looking forward to seeing what all this new OS is cracked up to be...I know the first thing I need to do with it though - I have 14 days to activate the thing or it stops working....grrr....and I paid for the beta testing...don't like that fact at all....

Well, thanks to bugs in the file system of XP Release Candidate 1 - I lost my Win 98SE installation so XP RC2 is my OS of choice now.. - why - because I have no choice! lol

ahh..I can laugh now - but what a weekend that was when I lost 98...all my data is there, just no OS... XP RC2 is very stable, just the occasional quirks that I assume to be worked out by the final release. I can say this - it crashes not at all and programs wipe out a whole lot less than in 98...MS might have gotten right for once...

now you only need 128 MB of RAM, 2 GB HD for the install, and at least a 500 mhz processor... JUST to run the OS....heh heh..can anyone say UPGRADE? smile.gif Don't even hope to play solitaire worth a damn if you don't have that much and more - yet alone your regular apps....
