Canker vs. Radu

Here's an idea to ponder.. what might've happened if Canker Canison and Radu Lykan had met? Would they have formed a powerful alliance or went at each others' throats? And if they fought, who would be the victor?
I personally think Radu would have won a fight, simply because Radu had been Wamphyri much longer.

Canker was so much more infantile than Radu, not to mention a tad bit "out of sorts" as far aqs sanity goes. At least there is one thing that we can vouch towards Radu. He was strong, lethal, and overly cunning.

Not that I'm saying he wasn't insane, for, as wel all know, pretty much all the Wamphyri tend to be as so, but Canker was much farther along, I believe ~chuckles~

Ive got to agree with the first two postings - i think Radu would have won from sheer size and strength, in the Lost yeras books it describes him as being at least 7 feet tall and powerfully built.
Would be close though as Canker was a bit loopy and you know what they say about a madman's strength...

Ahh, granted, granted, Radu had the Drakuls, and the beginning line of the Ferenczys on his tail (no pun intended ~l~) but look at the power he was surrounded by... Shaitan, et al ... heh ... it was a wise choice to to subordinate, and be flung into the gate .... as is proof of the leechs tenacity... to face the Hell-lands, rather then die .... but all points, and arguements aside, I've a feeling Radu, and Canker would have been allies, rather then enemies ...

Canker was pure unadulterated energy!! I loved him. Apart form his moon music, he did not give a toss. If there was a battle, I really think Canker would rip Radu to pieces.

He was also totally off his tree and I get the feeling that in a real war he would not give a monkeys about his own self - preservation. Berserkers I think is the name for that type of person. That's why I think he would just blitz Radu, no matter how big and cunning he was.

Take a look at how Radu dealt with the Francesci brother who traced him back to his lair - i think it was something along the lines of splatting him into something unrecognisable....
I like Canker a lot but i dont think he had that much power, face to face i would go for Radu, the only thing in Canker's favour would be his gauntlet....

and Karen ripped out The heart of a Wamphyyri......does that mean that she and Radu are the only strong ones? You must remember ...what you must remember is those 2 Italian Wamphryi brothers where not born nor bred in the Starside/Sunside world. They where inferior stock and succumbed easy. Radu has only the strength of a Wamphyri that has been laying in his cradle for centuries....while I took on and held off the whole eastern Wamphyri army....I have been tested and have acheived greatness... they still could not finish me for I launched myself upon a flyers back and sought out my future in other ways....BEWARE...even vampires yearning to be Wamphryi can be tested...and can and have been found to be lacking the talent to proceed further.....Undeath can be very short for the undead if they are not careful or better yet...respectful. Radu indeed....that pup might have been first...but he lost to a human when the Wamphryi could not bring me down.

If Radu and Canker were to meet with both being in thier prime condition I would have to place my bet on Radu.
Canker obviously having the upper hand on the insanity note,but Radu is unrivialed by the renegade as far as cunning and sheer evil is concerned.
Radu also has too much hatred for everything and everyone to be contained by Canker.

Well in that case id like to argue the point that radu also defeated armies, and not just one attacking a well protected arie but actually went to war with/against the "civilized" weapons of war that man had created, and on his terms, and against the earths sun. What was it that wanker did again, oh yes hid in his piss laden, walled up arie and "defended". Sorry must have forgotten.
This argument is simply to defend perhaps my favorite character, Radu is what started me onthe road to other necroscope novels.
I think that it was a wise decission for Brian to use this particular type of vampire in the human world to add a delicious twist to the necroscope series here on earth.

Hmm........opinions vary...and I respect your opinion ***Licking Vasagi's entrails off my fingers*** ;) But my bet would still be on Canker.....Radu was very intimidating and a good Wamphryi but...correct me if I'm wrong....Didn't he get banished by other Lords? So he already proved that he couldn't cut it on Starside. Oh sure he was a force to be terrified of here...but that is from a humans point of view and not one of Radu's stature....My take on the whole thing?.....
Radu= old warrior, diplomat, scheming politician
Canker= Warrior, though not very scheming in nature, he was crafty and unfearful of any Wamphryi and the best Warrior maker in the Eastern Wamphryi's. Ruthless...Insane at times....a force to be reckoned with.

Well I hate to waffle but after reading the VW series (after the other seven) again I have to say Canker would take Radu in the streets like he does his ladies. Radu was always getting the best taken from him. Faethor was able to give him the black plague with no problem. Radu should have been expecting that, a dullard in my book if his Wamphyri senses weren't strong enough to sense an attack or a trap for that matter.

Okay, Canker was the cooler of the two, that I agree on. I'd be his thrall any day. But I still believe Radu would win in a fight cause he had been around longer. Yes, Canker fought off an army. But Radu fought against Shaitan the Unborn, himself. If you compared Canker against Radu when BOTH were in their prime; not when Radu was floating in amber, Radu would be the stronger.
How about an alliance though? If Canker and Radu called a truce, who do you think would be the first to break it? Would Canker give in to his true Wamphyri nature first, or Radu? And what kind of devious plan would one come up with to trap the other? It would have to be clever indeed, to trick a fellow Dog-Lord...

<font color="770000">Ok, I will have to go with Canker as being the victor here, mainly because even if he was a bit mad, he did in his own DogLord-Way, take care of his pups and Manse, and knew that they would stick by him, and really had no fear of anybody unsurping him...on the other hand..Radu was as paranoid as they come, if he had an inkling that anyone would go against him..he would disregard his safety and try to kill them...thus being that way would be weak..as paranoia is a weakness that the DogLord, or anybody else for that matter, would take advantage of.

So, against Madness & Paranoia...the madness would win hands down...sorry Radu..but you would not last...</font color>

Canker was a warrior all the way..Radu was a warrior but was expelled from Starside/Sunside because he took on the big boys and lost. "Lost" being the key word their.
Now he might have done well here on Earth in all those wars that he was involved in but you must remember that at that point he was not fighting peers. Wamphryi are must stronger, faster, and all around better physically. So...to better oneself and progress up the ranks so to speak you fight equals not inferiors. Fight lessers being and you would eventually get soft, which I think would have happened to Radu. Then being locked up in a tank for all those long years?...If he had met Canker after that long sleep in the tank I think the fight would have lasted 3 minutes with Canker walking away with radu's throat in his mouth.

"Lord" Nestor Radu did not flee to the hell lands he was banished! And for the fight Radu would win. He was far older(25 times older!) and more experinced. What chance would a crazed dog have against a great wolf.
