I just had a thought(wow, first one of the day)...

Instead of Harry, Harry Jr, and Nathan getting up close and personal with the undead, wouldn't it be easier for them to kill the vampires by using the Mobius Continuum? It would be easy... just open a door in the vampire's path... he steps/flies through it and *poof* is out of the universe forever. Or Harry could even enter the Continuum, open a door to where the sun is shining, and push him through it. Maybe it is a bit too easy, but he did manage to open a door large enough for a truck to pass through... Ok, there's my thought for the day, and now I must get back to work.

I often wondered that.

They could keep appearing behind them stabbing them in the head, dropping bombs on them, make them disappear, etc.

I suppose the reason for not losing them in the MC or sending them to another place, I suppose they wouldn't want to spread the vampire plague.

As for the other reasons..think about it for a minute...imagine what it would do to the storlines:

Chapter 1
---------

Harry sees some vampires. He drops lots of nasty bombs on them without them knowing or having a chance to escape. They all die.

The End

Just not very good is it??? http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

I prefer to just forget about these "oversights" on Harry's part, and enjoy the books.

LOL

That's how it would be alright. Well, he did send one into the Continuum anyway... funny thing, he considered it a punishment for one, yet he sent another into the MC as a favor. *shrug*

Well I really don't know how to start this out but I am going to try and bottom line it first. Could have, should have, would have come on guy if Brian made defeating the vampires that easy for Harry and Nathan who would read his books? You got to make things interesting and put difficult obstacles in the way. It's like watching a scary movie or watching a sport event from TV and saying to yourself "If it was me I would have......" Don't get me wrong it is a good idea, but if you want to make things interesting you have to show that the character has some sort of weakness.

Remember also that Harry considered the mobius continuum to be the mind of God. To send them physically into the continuum forever would mean true immortality for that vampire. Having seen future and past, he might have seen his son or some future member of his family contaminated by that. Old faethor was just a spirit...no harm unless you let him in your mind.

Hmmm.. I don't know 'bout that. I don't think they'd stay in the MC forever. After all, nobody is meant to be there, and it ejects you after time.

Purely as nitpicking, Faethor was not punished to be in the MC forever, just the timeline of the universe, which is something entirely different. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ehlana- I think you are on the right track... I believe Harry said something about existing in the MC... it kept pushing him towards doors. The MC didn't like physical entities in it for long.

That is the impression I got... not sure exactly where, though.

Mike I believe it was the first book that hinted it and the second which pushed him into Kyle's body.

As far as the post goes, at the end of Deadspawn Harry did use the MC to get inside that Warrior to crush his brain but alas he was to close to the gate to exit. By then he was to damaged to do anything else because they pinned him to the cross.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember a quote along the lines of "A mote in the eye of God, constantly trying to be ejected"?

If I'm correct, I think that about sums it up. :)
