Hello All.
I have been trying to obtain all of the Necroscope series in Hardcover. As of this posting I have books 1-3, 4(UK version) ;), Lost Years volume 1 and the most recent Invaders and Defilers.
Does anyone know if and when that Tor might reprint Lost Years Volume 2 and if and when they might get around to the installments that have never been in Hardcover yet?
I checked both Amazon and Barnes and Nobles for these but nothing. :-(

Canker the last time that Melissa was here she said that Necro 4 and 5 were slated for much later. Necro 4 was being thought about for sometime next year during the spring or something, but no actual date was set yet and it was up in the air. Then if they did do it Necro 5 would come out the next year 2002 depending on the sales of Necro 4. I think that at the moment they are concerning themselves with getting Brian's other new stuff out first (such as Avengers and the collection of short stories they are doing) then doing reprints. She did say however something about the psychomech series being reprinted in trade paper back sometime next year as well. Then of course you have the collection of short stories that they are doing in Feb next year.
I doubt seriously that they will ever do a reprint of lost years in hard cover. Just too much money. But check e-bay I see hardcover copies of it for sell there all the time.
Hope this helps some.

Peter's got it right.
We will be doing DEADSPEAK next year in hardcover, most likely in November. Generally we do these reprints every 2 years, though there is a vague possibility that we'll do DEADSPAWN only a year later, in 2002 (publishing works in a very long time-frame sometimes--Tor/Forge has years and years of stuff scheduled).
It's not likely that we would do a hardcover reprint of a book we'd already done in hardcover. There would have to be a significant number, like thousands, of people demanding this. Which leaves you out of luck in terms of THE LOST YEARS and RESURGENCE, except that every once in a while we get a few returns. Generally they ship out again pretty quickly. Today we have 5 copies of RESURGENCE. Tomorrow we might have 2 or none. It's a crapshoot whether your individual order comes in on a day we're in stock.
We _are_ doing the Psychomech books in trade paperback, starting next August, with Eggleton covers. Our intent is to do 1 each season and get them all out in a year. But we have to work around the story collections, so it may take more like a year and a half.

Thank you all.
I just purchased Lost Years Resurgence through Alibris.
They said it was in Fine condition and the dust jacket as well. I'm not one to really by second hand books unless I can actually see the book itself in my hand but oh well.
Thanks again for the ideas.

Not to brag, but the only Necroscopes I don't have in Hardback are: The Last Aerie, Blood Brothers, and Deadspawn (which hasn't been published in that format.) All in new condition as far as I can tell.
Canker... keep an eye out in ebay.
That's where I'm filling in my collection from. Just don't out bid me... I can't afford it.

**Fingers crossed** Here's to hoping that the order gets filled correctly and the books look really good as to their true condition.

I would always check e-bay under Brian Lumley. There are always some there for sale. Even some extremely hard copies to get a hold of!

Yeah Canker!</b?
The Vampire World Trilogy is out of print, but you can still find NEW books. I think a lot of book dealers have new Lumley books, but just don't have the customers coming in their front doors looking for them, so they put them on ebay.
I picked up Maze of Worlds (HB) and The Lost Years (uncorrected proof) a month ago for about $15 a piece on ebay. Collingsinsideyou beat me out for an uncorrected proof of The Last Aerie Wednesday.

I think that were I'm getting the books from are places that have had them in stock either as second hand with little wear or ones in bookstores that have not sold. They list as places to get books through Barnes and Nobles and Amazon or at least that's what I can gather from it. Either way I'll have the books and they should be near new status from what I could read in the info about them.
Thanks again everyone. After this the only one in Hardcover I will need is Deadspawn and as Melissa posted above it might be coming out in the future.
I'm sitting here just eagerly awaiting Avengers!!!!
AAAWWWHHHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I drop by the site once or twice a week just to see what people are talking about, usually Mondays and Fridays. I don't read every post or every board, but I cruise here and the book discussion sections every week (barring illness or disasters or various sorts). Just because I don't post doesn't mean I'm not here, just that I don't have anything to say!
I'm emailable at Tor, of course, but it's probably to post a general question here and let me answer it, since then others who might be wondering the same thing can get the information and I don't have to answer 20 emails all asking the same thing.
Masinger is a username I use in a lot of places on the web. Then I only have to remember different passwords as opposed to passwords _and_ usernames!
Melissa Ann Singer, Senior Editor, Forge/Tor Books and harried mom to a charming 4.5 year old (who took her Dracula figure to school last week and scared all the teachers), which is why I forgot to actually sign my post last week . . . .

I am also trying to restore an old bookcase my grandfather made years ago just so I have a special place for my Brian Lumley collection.
