I was just sitting here and reflecting upon this whole Necroscope series. Though I am axiously anticipating the next release, Avengers, I must admit I will be quite sad that the series is ending. I understand what was outlined as to why the series will end and can appreciate these things but I wonder…… is a series of spin off's impossible? I would love to hear what you all think.

For me the whole Necroscope series tied in perfectly to our own beliefs and myths. I for one would be overjoyed to see another series like the Vampire World trilogy. When and where it would take place and who the players would be I would not even try to suggest for I believe that Mr. Brian Lumley has a much better grasp on the whole series than the rest of us *L* but I will be sad to see it all end.

Now I know that the membership of the messageboard is only hovering around 300+/- members but I for one would put out an impassioned expression of gratitude and a small plea….

“Thank you sir for the stories that you have given us to this point. For me the Necroscope series has been the best and most read book series that I own. I never tire of it and when I start reading it, again it will be for the 4’Th time. If ever you do entertain the idea of re-inventing or “spinning off” a series of books from the Necroscope time line or basis… I for one will be there eagerly awaiting the releases.

Thank you again Brian Lumley for the great reads. 

hmmmmmm, a spin off...i think that would be interesting but how about a whole new story?
I, like you, am really sad its going to end but i think maybe Brian would want to write something new and fresh no?......

I don't know, i mean i'm just speculating here, but i think the Necroscope will be laid to rest....however, i will never stop reading it over and over again...

I second your gratitude to Brian...

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

As much as the Necroscope saga has been bloody marvellous, maybe it IS time for something new.

Frankly, the prospect of something completely different is more exciting to me than another Necroscope novel - having said that, I await Avengers with baited breath...

I first discovered the works of Brian Lumley completely by accident, never realizing what I had got myself into. Now, four years later, I own the entire published series, and am starting out into Mr. Lumley's various other works.

I must say that the Necroscope series has been one of the best sagas I have ever read. I to am sad to see it end, but I don't think I will ever tire of re-reading them, gee, I've only read them all 4-5 times! (Damn, those were some late nights. Finished The Source all in one night. Couldn't put it down!)

I believe it is all up to Mr. Lumley's own desire, and if it is to lay this masterwork to rest, so be it. I believe it will be a series that will persevere for a long time however, as one of the greatest works of our lifetimes.

My hat is off to you, Mr Lumley.

I think it's time for something new. I LOVE the Necroscope series and hate to see it end, but...I really wouldn't want to see it 'watered down' either. Of course even if the series did continue via the 'spin-offs', I would definitely be reading those books too, especially one on Jazz..he's one of my favorite characters. But I think the 12+ books in the series is plenty, I have no problems reading them again and again and again...........

I just think it's time for an all-new LONG series of some kind, I don't really have any suggestions, but I'm sure Mr. Lumley can figure something out on his own!

Like the "Great Majority" here, I'm anticipating the end of the series with mixed emotions. I'll be sad to see the end of familiar characters and settings, but eagerly anticipating new worlds to explore; Brian is our guide.

You see, with Mr Lumley holding the torch of his imagination high, enthralling us all with his amazing characterisations, stunning plots, twists and masterly story telling, who knows what we'll all discover in those voids of darkness that all of us, his fans, like to explore...

One thing I'm sure of. Mr Lumley NEVER disappoints. Where ever we go It's going to be great!

Christ! What's the new stuff going to be like??!! I'm getting excited about stories not even written yet!

Calm down, must calm down...

Wouldn't it be cool if The Man were to contribute to one of those!"

I'm sorry to tell you, Nathan, that there will not be a Brian Lumley story in any of the LEGENDS volumes. These are mass market editions that each contain one-third of a gigantic hardcover we published last year, so the contents are already set.
