Ok, not sure how this will go, but hey, its worth a shot...
If you were in the position as Nathan was when he was with Maglore, and you knew that you would be able to stay human..would you stay..and for how long and why?
I would stay, basically to find out as much as I could for survival purposes, and also from wondering about the history of the Wamphyri and to because of the morbid curiosity I know I would have regarding warrior making :->

I woulda stayed for the easy sex with the human chick that Maglore kept! (Damn I can't remember her name and I just finished that book last week... hate when that happens. Guess I'll just call her Babe.)

I would definitely stay.
Why? Coz I'd be the only "untouchable" human amoung the vampires. That is the only reason I would need as I would be able to rub their noses in it!!!
Seriously I would stay just to be able to study the vampires at work. Write some documentation on them, and then sell it to Brian Lumley so that he could write some vampire world novels... oppps, he's already done that, Oh well.... no money making today then, maybe I could sell the docmentation to Anne Rice.......

So you'd stay for the knowledge, huh?
But how would you manage to stay human... knowledge is power... power corrupts and Wamphyri are the Ultimnate orruption...

Ahh SimonK, you are in for the ride of your life, with plenty more to come :)

Emaleth-Thanks... I didn't have Bloob Brothers with me the other night at work otherwise I woulda looked it up myself.
As for these people that want to tease Vampires... (sigh) http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif These are the same jokers that reach into the monkey cage at the zoo and tap on the shark tanks at the aquarium. They are definitely bound for provisioning.

I would stay for the conversations with the Master of the Aerie. I would like to learn to be as fluent at word games as they are. To be able to argue as good as them would be extremely beneficial to my career.

So I heard this riddle on the radio the other day but missed the answer and am currently going insane. Anybody hear this one before?
The doctor gives you two kinds of medication. Pill A and Pill B. Pills A and B must always be taken together - one A and one B once a day. To take two of either A or B in one day would be lethal. So you get out bottle A, shake it and one pill falls out. Go to bottle B, shake it and TWO pills fall out by accident. Pills A and B are exactly the same in weight, color, and size with no visible differences. The pills are too expensive to just throw away.
How do you tell the difference between Pill A and Pill B so you can put the extra B pill back and properly take your meds?

answer to riddle:
Get out another A pill and add it to the three already taken out. Cut them all in half and take one half of each one thus equalling one A Pill and one B Pill. Save the other halves for tomorrow's dosage.

In answer to the original question in this thread...
IF i were Nathan, I would have stayed only long enough to scope out the bowels of the aerie, plant some explosives, and bring the entire stack down around Maglore's ugly head. Don't forget, Nathan was a Traveller, and weren't they against the Wamphyri. What's this about staying and being Maglore's 'pet human'. Bah!

Hell yeah I'd stay. Long enough to gain what little there is of the Lords trust, find out their strengths and weakness. Then while the sun is still up kill Maglore in his bed, take his egg. Then proceed with a plan to overcome the other Lords, and make Turgosheim my own!

I'd stay for sure, but however I would not want to stay as a mere human I'd try to become a vampire.

Answer to your riddle..a cheap shot answer...throw away all three pills, count the number of pills in each bottle. The one that has the extra pill, you can throw away and therefore be back to an even amount and take one pill from each bottle. Simple..hahah

well, not really. the original riddle had this in it:
>The pills are too expensive to just throw away.
