No, I don't mean Canker Canison's moon music, just wondering what sort of music you guys are into. I suppose it's fairly obvious that I listen to Goth, ranging from old stuff like Bauhaus to more industrial bands such as Cubanate and Ultraviolence. I also adore Gregorian chants and some classical (I got married to Mussorgsky's 'Night on Bare Mountain').
So anyway, what gets you guys shaking your buns?!

Um...OK...I think I have the weirdest music taste in the world. I like Fear Factory, Silverchair, My Ruin, Death In Vegas, yet I also like B*Witched, Catatonia, Manic Street Preachers, Elastica...

Hey GG, since you asked, I listen to all kinds of music. I;m not much into the Goth scene or rap music, (I'm gettin old, 31) but I love blues music, country, and Jimmy Buffett music sets the tone for my laid back life style. If didn't have to work I'd spend my days on the beach, toes in the sand, book in my hand (BL of course), with a cold beer and the stereo playing Buffett tunes. Working ona webpage that tells all so check it out at:

Lichloathe - you like Paradise Lost? Have you perchance heard of a band called Axegrinder, from about 8 years ago (they played alongside Paradise Lost a few times). Well I'm married to their guitarist. Can't stand their music myself!
I love 80s music too Scarlet, at work I'm in the process of organising an 80s quiz, as I wistfully remember all the truly dreadful crap churned out during my early years!
And at the moment, I live in the east end of London, in a lovely little house that backs onto a graveyard! Quiet neighbours!

Well Well well then you come to me!! MUsic what is it? Well It is a collection pf differnt sounding tunes. First off I am a metal head meaning it death, black, and/or thrash. Or all rolled into one sound like Cradle Of Filth or Absu! I dont stop there either! Not much for the feminate goth scene and it music but do like the look of the women. anyways to name some bands ok! Dimmu Borgir, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet under, Satyricon, Ancient, childern of Bodom, Noir Aura, and Old Man's Child. Ahhh but I like me a bit of old Slayer and Iron maiden and Black Sabbath and of course the sex pistols! I enjoy techno and KMFDM and Rammstein. Not much into korn and the like any more. I do like some rap like DMx and Method man/ Red Man and ICp. Prodigy rocks too! I even like Ska and jazz and my true love Classical mainly WAGner! Well that is a slice O' me!

Kenickie, I followed the group's musical wanderings ever since their begining. I liked the old stuff (like Gothic) but i guess i like their new stuff somewhat better. Have you heard One Second? I don't really know what category of music they play now (they used to be a black metal group).
Goth Girl, married to a guitarist? That's cool. I've heard of Axegrinder but i can't say i'm very familiar with their music. I don't think they ever came to play here in Greece and i haven't got any of their albums.
Oh, and you wouldn't happen to have any bllod relation with Harry now, would you? http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey, Scarlet!! I've seen you around the bulletin board a few times, but I didn't realise we were neighbours. I'm living in Shepherds Bush (although we're currently selling up and moving to the coast). Cool!!!
Sorry, Scarlet, just realised you don't live in London, only visit. What a plonker. Now, where are those damned pills!!!!!

Hi Ian, I think I'm probably your closest neighbour so far, though Shepard's Bush to Stratford isn't exactly close!
Scarlet, ever since you mentioned the 80s, I've been on a total 80s trip, playing loads of New Romantic stuff - Visage, Japan. My hubby's not impressed! I tried to get him to an 80s club at the weekend, but no luck.
How often do you come down to London? I moved here 8 years ago and I love it, there's no way I could move back to Hartlepool. Where my friends live in the north there is one goth club a month - here in London I can go out clubbing just about any night of the week (though I'd probably get sacked from work for sleeping at my desk!).
Rashagoth - Rammstein are my favourite band of the moment, so I totally agree with you!

Goth Girl, you like Rammstein? Hmm...I like the music, but the singer's voice puts me off. Same with Will Haven on record.

The last CD I bought was Blondie's 'Eat to the Beat' (1979), which I've been after for years. Before that I got Bat Out of Hell (1977) (i've got the vinyl but no longer have a record deck). Oops, I tell a lie, the last Cd I bought was the soundtrack to Shaka Zulu -- a tv mini-series from 1984. I seem to be going back in time musicaly. I really like Jill Sobule, and David Devant & his Spirit Wife, and have been known to happily listen to ABBA.
I only know Catatonia from the first 2 Ladykiller compilation albums. 'Lost Cat' is cool. There's a group called Keniekie and their song 'In Your Car' has been my fave thing to listen to for the past week or so. Is that where you got the name from, Kenickie, or am I woefully off base?
Stratford? I'm in Solihull which isn't too far away.

Potempkin Er...long story. I was Kenickie in a version of Grease...he was the one with the car. Kenickie the band named themselves after him, and I loved them, saw them 5 times. As a result of both I am now Kenickie, and no-one has called me by my real name for about 5 months. Well, apart from my mam. *g*
As for Catatonia, I love them so much, though seeing as the drummer is my cousin, I guess I have to. : )

Hey, Kenickie, I played Johnny Casino (high school band lead singer) in school production of grease. Best fun I've ever had!!!
Hiya, goth girl, yeah you're right I don't get over that side of town too much. So what do you get up to in Stratford.
Potempkin - I think goth girl means Stratford, London, rather than Stratford on Avon.

Anybody ever heard of a band called VAST (or Visual Audio Sensory Theatre).
I think they might be the kinda band your looking for; Doom-y and Gothic.
I found out about them in June from the back of a free Cd from the Golden Grahams of all places....

Music? I love music. I like a pretty wide variety, but mostly I'm into metal. Not the bs 80's metal either, but the real stuff (Manowar, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Gravedigger....) Also like some orchestra, like the Conan soundtrack, among others.
Gotta go.. Rock on brothers!

Sorry Potempkin, I mean Stratford London. Not the same literary history but we do have a cool bus station! Check out the film 'Preaching to the Perverted' to see what I mean.
As for what I get up in Stratford, Ian - again, check out the film!

I've not seen a all nighter Graveyard for ages, - years it seems.
Went to a couple myself. (saw Rosetta Stone at one, I believe)
Am going to Rock City again 24/11 to see (gulp) The Mission and All About Eve.
(Im fervently hoping that the Mish will have returned to their late 80's greatness - but im not holding my breath...)

I, like the majority here, it would seem, listen to a bit of everything. My Dying Bride, Cradle of Filth, Death, and a various other Death, of Black Metal entourages. I also have my moments when I do nothing but listen to The Doors all day long, or feel indifferent and put on some old White Zombie, like Make Them Die Slowly, and La Sexorcisto (and let me tell just say, those to LPs differ IMMENSELY) .... at any consequence, I'd have to say that Type O Negative would be my favorite band of them all... ~shrugs~

I guess my taste is pretty eclectic, anything from Wagner to Kid Rock and most things in between.
I played Drums in a band for a couple of years around the South Coast and my favorite stuff was probably from the Almighty.
The Mission had some good stuff and the Sisters of Mercy are always a classic.
Cheers

Jesus I've spent hours reading all these.
Hey Goth girl, things have changed up here.
Theres a club at Boro, I think it's called Blaizers, Total metal, rock and Goth. Cool chicks too.
I like most music. I'm currently going thru an Extreme phase (Time for the Prozac again).
Other than that it's Queen, G'n'R, Ice T, PE, Metalica, Motohead, 9" nails, Rage Against The Machine, etc.... There'a also time for Peter Gabriel (better double the dose).

Hi there Titus - would your name come from the superb novels by Mervin Peake?
I'm from Peterlee orignally but used to spend a lot of time in H'pool and M'Boro - is the Goth scene still surviving? Never heard of Blaizers, I used to go to the Gemini club in H'pool, but I think that's dead now.
Anyway, ta-ta, luv GG

Jesus GG, Gemini was a long time ago. I think it's changed hands about 3 times. Wasn't bad for a while. It's now O'riely's (Sorry spelling's crap).
Useless piece of crap info.. I now work in Peterlee. Great fun in winter, if you like driving on snow and ice.
As far as I know now Yarm is the big Goth area. None of that rave shit around there. I'll check up.
Titus is from the Mythos Omnibus. Confusing as hell, but I got there.
Yours

Type O Negative is also my "favorite" band. I just discovered them not too long ago, when I listened to their rendition of "Black Sabbath" on a Tribute to Black Sabbath album.
I like Slayer, Type O Negative, Somnus, Dvorak, Wagner, Tool, and Swans.
