Hi All!
I have a quesion for you... Who is your favourite all time character from a Lumley book, this could be from Harry Keogh to Charlies Trace (demogorgon), from Kthanid(Titus Crow) to Turnbull from HOD.
Let's do it right this time with spoilers as to why they are your favourite.
I'm going to have a long think about this one, as it's something I want to get right.
Tops.

Well I guess I'll be the first to answer in here...and in true Peter spirit I'm gonna cheat! Naming one all time Favorite would just be too painful. More than likely I would strain a muscle and a blood vessle would pop. Then all the sudden my boss would find me dead on the floor with blood spurting from my forehead. As I would like to avert the afore mentioned scenerio, I will name a few characters that I just love, and of course bore you with explanations as to why!
I will start off with someone special. And more than likely if pressed have to say she would be my fav! But then again I just can't commit to that, there are just too many I love. Who am I talking about? The insatiable, incredible, delectable, delightfully gorgeous Lady Karen. My reason....I'm a guy and she is....well all woman, well with an added little parasite inside of her...but I'm willing to over look that. I know I'm a sell out, but what can I say....? Anytime I read the "Source" or "Deadspawn" I can't wait to read about Karen.
Next we have of course Harry Keogh. Why, is obvious...he was the source of it all. Nuff said.
I have to give Shaitan an honorable mention since he is without a doubt a really cool evil guy...ya just gotta love him.
And of course I loved Nathan as well. He was all that his father was and sometimes a little more.
Then I always liked De Marigny. I mean what dedication. He was no where near as gifted as Titus, but in the end was able to do some great things. I liked Titus, but Henry was a little more endearing to me since he had to work a little harder than Titus. Sometimes I think Titus had a lot of things just handed to him.
Then I leave with my last two lovable characters. David Hero and Terra Khash. They are just fun loving hero's. They help people out just as much as they cause trouble in bars.....
So thats it for me...hope you don't mind me cheating a little. You really wouldn't want me dead on the floor with blood spurting from my forehead would you?

I don't think I have answered this one, Tops! It's always, fave Necroscope or fave Lady or fave E-branch member, etc. Favorite all around character...hmm....
My only problem is deciding which I like better...the good guy or the bad guy. So I'll give my favorite for both sides of The Force. :D
Radu Lykan would be my good guy. Yeah, yeah...he was a bad guy for a damn long time, but his story before he became Wamphyri was excellent. The trials he went through as a kid with the bullies, and the brutal rape and murder of his sister. Wandering the wilderness for years and finally finding a faithful companion to travel with only to be vampirized by that same friend. The whole thing with the wolf (what was its name? Did it say?) just about killed me! The way it seemed to want to tear out Radu's throat and stay loyal at the same time...the inner struggle...then Radu having to kill him (her? help me out here Tops.) That was sad. :(
Then he got his revenge...kinda. He was one of those that even after he became Wamphyri, you still thought of him as the "good guy"...at least until he came to Earth. His was a very enjoyable history.
I gotta go with Canker for my favorite bad guy. And its kinda strange because he's exactly the opposite of Radu! He was always a bad guy, but I constantly thought of him as a good guy! Until, of course, he went a-raidin'!! But still, you know what I mean? I even felt sorry for him at the end!
His craftily over-exagerated "craziness" that kept the others doubting his capabilities, his loyalty to Nestor, his excited caperings when the "fun" was about to start, his simple method of recruiting, the way he seemed to have feelings and even showed sadness when telling Nestor what he'd divined of the future in his dreams...all those things and more just made him so damned lovable!!
I will also say that apart from the Necroscope characters, I too liked Hero and Eldin a lot. They never failed to entertain.
And there you have it. smile.gif

Hmmmm...... so many to choose from and so much to truly say. *L*
As far as a Necroscope I'd have to go with Nathan. Yeah I know he started out pretty weak at the beginning of Bloodbrothers but he finished out that trilogy extremely strong. *L* :D
my all time favorites would have to be the Wamphryi and (as my handle suggests) I'd have to pick Canker as a Wamphryi to be...furious, honest to a basic instinct and as far as a Wamphryi can get. *L* But if I was to choose an all time favorite Wamphryi it would be very difficult.
I'd say it is a toss up between Shaitan and Shaithis. Both of them ruled and were awesome in ever respect.

Nathan,
The wolf you are thinking of is Singer.
If I were to have to choose a wamphyri, it would have to be Faethor Ferenczy... he was a nasty b'stard!
Oh and cheating is allowed.
My favourite animal ina BL story would be Suzy from the Psychmech trilogy. What a faithful dog she was. If I ever get a dog, I would want one like her.
Still thinking....
I have to agree with the De Marigny comments. As you might remember from a while ago I post a topic about De MArigny and Titus Crow, I think it was called "who thought titus crow was a little arrogant" or soemthing like that. Someone did have a good point at the time though, and that was that when DM (for short) got the time clock he had a weapon on it, which Titus Corw didn;t... still De Marigny was better in my eyes....

Tops,
You say DM, had a weapon on the clock and Titus didn't but.....in the Transition of Titus Crow when Dm thiks about Titus to guide him back home, Ithaqua try's to stop Crow, at which point
quote:

As the wind walker reached for the coffin-clock, his burning carmine eyes full of blood lust and his whole attitude one of mad bestial fury, there shot out of the dial of that fantastic vehicle a pencil slim beam of purest light. The beam struck the striding god-thing square in his monstrous chest.
quote:

Deano at that point Titus had already been to Elysia and had the weapon installed. That quote if I remember correctly was when Titus was heading back to Earth from Elysia to give DM the clock so that DM could get to Elysia as well. Titus had had the clock fitted with the weapon once he was in Elysia. So before Titus got to Elysia he did not have that weapon on the clock. I think that was what Tops was refering to.

hmmmm......I might be the only one who thinks it - but my all time favorite has to be Richard Garrison. And I guess you need to throw in his son too, one Richard Stone/Garrison. I just always got a kick out of Garrison, how he handled things and what he did with the power he gained.
Sure, it was impossible to beat him - but Brian wrote him in such a way that you always felt as if he was the underdog somehow, especially with his son. It seemed all his enemies seemed to get a shot at him, but never could bring him down because of his strong will.
And i have to agree with Tops on the animal - who can ask for a better pet than Suzy? The dog that became immortal and gave up immortality for the love of her master - dying - what - how many times? in the process, always brought back because of her devotion and finally getting the chance to pad through eternity once again in the end with her original master...wow - now that's a pet! smile.gif
