All you talk about is "necroscope" characters..... what about Henri-Laurent DeMarigny, a very under-rated character is you ask me.
I also like Eldin the wanderer, how about Henri-Laurent DeMarignt Verses Harry Keogh.
I think this would be a diffuclt one to fathom.....
What do you reckon guys?

I agree- I also think David Hero and Eldin the wanderer is one of the best "teams" ever created!! What do you think?

I have nearly finished the firt book in the dreamland series (difficult to get hold of in the UK), and I think that they are fine characters, quite an unlikely pairing don;t you think?
I thought of a new fight though, hoe about Cthulhu v Shaitan? THat would be interesting.......

Good read the dream series but the Necroscope beats it. I like David and Eldin and they are a good story line.
More properly would be Richard Garison vs Harry.
That would be a good match.

Yeah that ,makes sense, but I feel that Henri was never confident enough and seemed to live in the shadow of Titus. FOr this reason alone I would pit him against harry (madness it seems) as he always comes up trumps http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

can we chuck in
CTHULHU
when he is not in prision, he would kill lot of them with out much hassle http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
Hero and Eldin verses everyone else is a little harsh, and I think that they would die.... no doubt about it!

I think it would be the wamphyri joining
Cthulhu
, not cthulhu joining the wamphyri..... HE is after all one of the evil gods of eld.....
Free for all sounds excellent http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif How about chucking the black doberman suzie in as well. that way they can all have a feast at the end http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
BAnnerman would also be interesting, but he is a harsh b'stard............
I could go on, and probably will when I get anoither reply http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well what can I say....
Free for all.... that would surely mean no rules... if suzy dies in 10 second then she dies (although a firm favourite from the phychomech trilogy).
All I can think of is the carnage now. I think I'll go and have some raw meat, hmmmmmm lurvely ;o)
TO think this all started with HArry Vs DeMarigny... what went wrong http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, I whole heartedly agree with you.
Although better to battle fictional characters to the death than real people.

This is starting to sound like the WWF - Wamphyri Wrestling Federation!!
... and Nestor has countered with a drop kick to the head, but OH NO! Gorvi the Guile has a concealed gauntlet and is swiping for Nestor's face, but ... what's this? Wratha's outside the ring with a steel chair, and is passing it to Nestor. But OH MY GOD! Here's the Lady Carmen and she's slammed Wratha off the turnbuckle, but Gorvi has drained the referee and has thrown the bloodless corpse at Nestor but missed and hit Spiro Killglance who was at the sidelines...!

Faethor
March 5th, 2000, 05:07 AM
What about Faethor or Harry Jr? Very powerful characters. If you ask me, one book that is missing is Harry Jr. story. Anyway, psycomech, hero of dream..(funny lines in that book), necroscope, and the titus crow series. Hmm, i think i would have to look real hard to find alot of authors with that range of writing, yet all books that were facinating.

THis has to make it too 30 posts....
I'd like to see faethor again in another book, possibly it would be nice to have some sort of wamphyri history book, HEY Bri if your listening that's a ploy to make more money and not write necroscope books... Short stories...

Yeah. We never really saw Faethor other than as a dead Wamphyri. The only times we heard of him alive was with a bomb falling on his head then begging some weird guy to chop his head off, or getting screwed up by his son(s). I'd love to hear more on Faethor, and a lot more actually.
People I'd like to have more on:
Harry (yes..MORE!!)
Shaitan,
Faethor,
Harry Jr,
Darcy (cos he could face stupidly
silly odds and still win, could be funny)
and a few more.
Anyone disagree with that, or want to add more?

Hi all, can I bring the discussion back to DeMarigny Vs Harry Keogh for a second, even though I enjoyed the WWF theme.
Don't you think that DeMarigny and Harry have quite similar traits, neither of them completely aware of the boundaries of their powers and gifts.
Both have very likeable if vulnerable personalities and maybe it's just me but both of them sexy as hell.
No, I think it's just me!!!!

Funny that, if there is one character I would like to be it's Lady Karen, but only cause she gets Harry up close. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/wink.gif

We really need to change the title of this particular board. What was it we were talking about again????
I cant seem to remember. Ahhh yessss
Harry anyday. Time clock.....ha give me a break the continuum is where its at.
Ohhh wait did we mean harry as harry? harry as alec, or did we mean harry as wamphyri
topol_sheap
April 19th, 2000, 05:34 PM
OK, you all think Harry is better than Demarigny. I think that's a little harsh.
Vasagi
April 19th, 2000, 07:12 PM
Well come on deM. was a dreamer, a fabulous one, but just a dreamer.
Harry as wamphyri is just too much for any force to hande, and in the end even too much for himself. I wouldn't want to go up against him....................not even in dreams.
topol_sheap
April 20th, 2000, 05:47 PM
I WILL NOT SUBMIT. HARRY WAS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER and then I met demarigny. THat's all there is to it.
now leave me alone!!!!
Although I have to agree that Harry probably would win, unless of course I tripped him over....
Vasagi
April 20th, 2000, 08:23 PM
Oh well in that case.
Yes i can see tripping someone to win the war.
Tripping always works. or you could pull the old pie in the face gag too. That'll kill anyone. Yikes

Ohhhh.... I did think about the whole shoe lace thing as well.... then I wouldn't need to trip him..... I think this'll definitely work to dem.s advantage http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
Can we get Suzy from psychomech in on this action aswell..... (she was a fav of mine as well....)

yes you are a silly Yank, heh. I don't know about the accent!
Bri wrote the Dreamland series, I personally don't think it's his best, but still a good read if you have a spare hour or so, it's what I would call a holiday read http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
Hope this answers your questions, oh and the books are called:
hero of dreams,
ship of dreams,
mad moon of dreams,
iced on aran
You can get them from amazon.com

I thought that the Dreamlands series was very good, not as good as Necroscope or Titus Crow, but still pretty good. I wish there were more dreamlands stories because I breezed through them pretty quickly.

I've got two questions to ask before I begin to speculate on this one.
1)What happens if a Wamphiri gets the hot idea to bite (or give an egg to) Cthulhu?
2)Can Harry make a Mobius door big enough for Cthulhu to fit through, and what would happen when/if he was trapped there?
I'm gonna guess Titus would send DeMarigny away because "the danger is too great". At least thats what he always seemed to do in the first two books.

I believe they call it HPL Dreamlands because it first appeared in his stories. Brian was and is a great fan of lovecraft as you can see from his mythos work.
Does this help?
