It appears I am the only one who sees it this way. But my favorite character in all the books is none other than Lardis Lidesci. He is so strong, and other than having some "seer's blood" he is only Human... or Szgany rather. He is smart, quick, and never forgets. And even through his intense hatred of all things Vampire, he sees the possibilities for the future in the end.

He is a Survivor. And thus, he is the greatest.

It seems I've neglected this thread, and most of the others, so I thought i'd leave my mark.
Strange as it might sound the charecter I felt the most affinity for was Jake Cutter, he lacked the innocence and warmth of the other Necroscopes and seemed to walk a wonderfully grey line between good and evil.

I agree I think Jake is my fav also he is raw edged and believes in street justice but also has that deep human side full of emotion that he tries not to let surface but just cant keep it beat down

The Dweller is one I like, but would have loved to know more about him.

I would have liked to know more about the Dweller also, maybe everyone together could talk Brian into doing a "Dweller - The Lost Years Saga" ??? Would be neat to see how he built The Garden, and where all he had been before he and his mother ended up on Sunside/Starside!!!

This may be boring...but good ole' Harry Keogh. His character is so amazing...I love following him through all of his innocence in Necroscope, then watching him turn into this godly Wamphyri! And his "beliefs" I've always loved, one being "eye for an eye." And! His main drive was always love. Be it his love for Brenda all the way to Lady Karen, or even the dead (not literally love them.)

I'm only up to book 5, but I think that Dragosani is my favorite character so far, with Harry in a close second place.

Of course I liked Harry, but I'm sure just about everyone likes Harry. He's the hero after all. Okay and the fact that he was spying on his teachers and all. That's when I decided I liked him. And I hold a particular fondness for Dragosani(I'd have to I stole his name didn't I?), he's what addicted me to the books in the first place. Watching him in the first chapter tear a body apart was kind of fun and it was one of those things where I would have wanted to be there to see it, you know just to see what the inside of the human body actually looks like up close and everything. Not because I'm sick or anything like that. But I can't say they're my favorites. I think the one single character I loved the most in all the books were Vavara and Nana Kiklu becuase they're tenactios and go for what they want. I mean Vavara took over a nunery and converted them to being completely on the oppostite side of their faith. And as for Nana she wanted children and she wanted Harry and she'd have been damned before letting anything get in here way. It's rather a shame Harry didn't find out about his sons, but then Nana wouldn't have wanted him to know either, I don't think. I liked that she made her choices and stuck by them come hell, hight water, or other people's critism.

A question asked and answered in the wrong place and re-WHAMPed in the right place… hey Tops, did I find the right place this time??

MMMMM... my fave outta the Necro sagas... the Keoghs (Harry then Nathan on that count for all the reasons stated so far)?

My most fave E-Branch operative would have to be Darcy Clarke... he was such a dude, I always felt sorry for him when Harry turned off his talent.... but I was so jackked off with him for his actions in the lost years, turns out b4 (but after lol) Harry did it to him, it made a nice twist for me. Trevor Jordan with an honerable mention.

Fave Russian branch is definatly Zek... then to be teamed up with Jazz ... perfection in a couple eh?

Villians, I think Dragosani has that hands down, but BJ was.. ummm nasty..umm loving. Well she’s the biggest villan in my eyes ‘cause she messed up Harry the most, I think.

Canker would have to be my fave Whamphyri... ahhh sweet is so not the right word. Harry as Whamphyri... god imagen if he submitted to his leach. Wratha the risen was also a most formidable Lady... hell hath no fury like a Lady scorned. The last Drakul what a nasty one too.

Angelo played the best protoplasmic flesh part lol

… so tru about Harry Jnr, I’m dying to know him better!! Maybe a ‘Where he was lost years’…

Frost D nice call on Lardis… he is truly one of the immortal humans of the story along with Nana (thanks jade) I'd say they would have to be the most strongest of any humanity that survives within the saga

Canker is gorgeous and he has been my favorite at all times. I also liked Wran and Spiro, especially the latter. Would like to see a pic of him with his loincloth. *lol*

I'd go with the popular recognition of Faethor. He's "negotiations" with Harry well brilliant to read, the old dog just kept on pushing and prodding looking for every advantage he could gather even long lost to beyond dust.

Yet he still accepted his destruction at the time with a kind of pathos that was entirely unseen by any of the other Whampyri. And well he did fall in love to at least some extent.

He above all the other vamps, seemed to show no effort in being a fiend, he didn't go out of his way to be a monster. He was fiendish no doubt but not in the revelling way that the starside Whampyri and thibor were. His evil was more natural and concievable then theres.

Hm.. Favorite character. Difficult.

Probably Darcy Clarke. He's just cool. His talent, his -ness. Hard to explain.

A certain je ne sais quoi? I always liked Darcy as well - an 'everyman' who never quite trusted himself and when he did...

Darcy was a great character, I think his death was the saddest in the books for mine.

On top of having a really intriguing "power", one that really kept you wondering constantly how much protection it would afford him how far exactly could he push it, he also had a really strong sense of doing the right thing.

I'd have loved to see his power pushed further, how far would he be able to ignore his gut instincts, the need to get the hell out before the power seemingly had to make minor miracles happen to keep him in the game.

Of course by the end of the fifth book the description "possibly the words most non-descript man" started to grate a little....[ ]

Faethor was by far my favourite Wamphyrii. He was so scheming and so smooth. His recollection of his rampaging across Europe during the crusades helped endear him to my slightly darker side.

On the other side, always had a soft spot for Lardis and Darcy.

Favorite Hero... has to be without a doubt.....

(insert drumroll here)

Lardis Lidesci!

Look at all he had been through, the loss of his family, protecting his clan of Szgany, never letting ANY threat go...and always being prepared to fight the Wamphyri! As a man, he was feared and respected by many a Lord and Lady who went up against him... if they admitted it or not.

Favorite Villian... way too many I really did like, but I think Canker edges out ahead by a nose. The way that the "dog" part of him I think affected the Vampire in him, He seemed to have characteristics that others did not.. loyalty for one. Had he not been insane, he might have actually evolved into a Vampire who did NOT possess all the evil of the Wamphyi.

Hmm, shades of the Dweller, who while being a Vampire because of an infected Wolf, he controlled his Vampirism...I think not only because of his great mental capacity, but from the Wolf in him as well. I now have to throw my hat in the ring of people who want more info about the Dweller.

I like villains more than heroeses, maybe because I am so evil and twisted?

Feathor rocks, but why nobody mentioned Devetaki, she was evil, cunning and had style. I love how she defeated Turkuv Tzonov. She would have Nathan too, but he cheated.

Harry Keogh favourite human\good guy hands down.

Ah, but so much harder to choose a fav Wamphyri. After much deliberation I have to go with the old devil Faethor. So evil, so cunning, so... Wamphyri! I would love to know more about Faethors life. Also loved Thibor, Shaithis, Nestor and Canker, well loved them all really.

Canker is the man, by a long way (After Harry of course, but Harry is far too obvious, it should be voting without Harry!)

Lady Karen gets my vote as well.

and Zek,

and Darcy,

Oh you guys are right it's far too difficult.
