For those of you wanting a true first edition of Necroscope, don't do it from this link:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...926383600&rd=1

This is not a true first like it states. Some of you will know about the silly voodoo skull cover by Alan Hood, which came out just before the George Underwood cover. Be warned, don't buy it, the seller is lying, or doesn't have a clue.

Cheers,

I thin I can supply more information... I might even supply a scan of said book. Remember, this is the TRUE first edition, it came before all the others, and whatever Ebay bloke says at this point it a lie. There aren't too many about of this, but they do on occasion appear on ebay as do the oringinal Psych books (not with the red covers), and the original Demogorgan. THe covers for all of these are truly awful, and it's a good thing not everyone judges a book by it's cover!

Anyway, here's my scan:

Red Psych books are the best (IMHO) but they are getting harder to find these days!

You are right about the cover on this one though Tops. Still a good book for your collection though

So if this the "true" first edition, then what about the Necroscope editions with the inside cover art by Dennis Nolan? I have a copy of this and it says first edition, but maybe this is only for the TOR books? Can you believe I just bought this for 50 cents from someone!?

BTW, I have a website I put up (still under construction) with quotes and exceprts from the Necroscope books. I don't want to do anything I'm not allowed to so can someone tell me if I need to include copyright info or something else to make sure I'm legit? The url is:
http://members.wri.com/jeffb/necroscope/

Thanks

Your info on the cover art for Necroscope is interesting. I just check my copy of Necroscope and it say the cover art work is by Bob Eggleton. I wonder if the cover art work is done by someone else as my copy was printed in the United States? What do you think?

The true first was from Grafton in 1986 cover by Alan Hood.
I forget the details, something about Brian not being happy with it so they commissioned it to Underwood.

The Underwood cover is from Harper Collins in 1986

The Eggleton cover is the first Tor [US] edition 1986

I think you're right Sdkdmd, he wasn't happy with it and I don't think the publishers were either as it didn't sell well. When it was changed, then the book really started to sell!

Hi Radu. Best to e-mail Brian directly and get the nod from the man himself. That's what I did when I first put my site up and he was very helpful and complimentary.

However, as a rule of thumb, it's usually okay to include a short quote from copyrighted work if you are writing about it, e.g. in order to support a point you are making. Be sure to include your source and the date the quote was taken.

BTW your link doesnt work for me. I keep being told I'm forbidden.
