I read my books anywhere, I always take them when I have a long car trip as I can read in a moving vehicle but playing gameboy always makes me sick and I have to have something to do. I read during classes at school if I get bored, I read in my room alone, during study hall, doesn't matter to me. I fall into books, as demonstarted by the fact that I like to have music going and I'll be reading and realize when I come back that my cd is either almost or completely finished, so enviornment isn't such a big deal. My thing is music, I prefer to have music going when I do anything, especially reading. However my music doesn't always match my book type, but this goes for all books not just Lumley, as I'm a book worm and I'm ALWAYS reading something. (hey, I look at it this way if I can pass a class with an A+ average and read during more than half of it I'm doing okay!)There that answer your question Skints?

I get most of my reading done on smoke breaks and lunch at work. So busy. Sometimes I have an evening to just sit and open a book. I'm with you skints, hardly ever can I have the tv or radio on during.

Can only do one thing at a time so if the TV is on I tend to read a paragraph watch a few minutes read paragraph etc

But I can pretty much read in any situation aslong as I'm into the book.

Get lots of reading done on the public transport ... I hate getting on the bus without a book.

Tend to get an hours reading in on a evening(not a great tv fan) .... notwithstanding a glass or two of vino that lets helps me unwind....

Hm, I've only got two reading "locations"; my bed and a certain comfy couch.

And if I'm reading in the couch, I'll usually have some music playing in the background (I've discovered that Brian Lumley + Burzum equals greatness).

I do almost all of my reading at work. Since I almost always have plenty of time at work to do nothing....reading helps. Usually I've got a cold bottle of water nearby, some toe-tapping tunes that run in the background (so I don't fall too deeply into the book and not hear the phone or a job abend) and lett'er rip.

It's been known to happen where a person is talking to me/asking me a question while I'm reading Lumley, only to have me so far away that I don't even notice. And after a particularly 'exciting' part, I am known to be slightly hyperactive for a few minutes, if I stop after the part.

i think it comes down to the muti-task thing which the ladies are so good at,granted theres a few guys who can read listen to music and and watch tv the same time, its interesting to find that most guys like myself have to have nothing else going on around them while they read ...well alright cant speak for eveyone but if i have music on and try and read the same time the lump in my head cant cope, and one of em has to go

comfy chair, dim the lights, bottle of vino, and a bit of necro ....result

Well for me I love to read them at nite, when its quiet and all your hearing is the nite, then I settle in and just start reading away. When its quiet and nite, my imagination just runs with it, lol!! *hope that doesnt sound to weird, lol*

Night you're fine on the reading and being far away. I've been known to do similar, friend will come over and I'll be locked away in my room with a book and she'll have told them I'm not home so when I come down hours later she tells me so and so was by while I was out... and I have to explain that I was in my room reading.
