I think that Kenny was saying you should have said that Brian was mature, not you!

Anyway, back to the movie. As Brian is not an actor if he were to appear in the movie I think that he should have a very small part, a non descript type of part and not be a major character in any way.

A lot of the books are set in other countries and I'm not sure how good Brian's impersonation of the accent of those countries would be, it might be great but it might be a little short of the mark and turn out letting the film down. For example if he did play the part of someone like Viktor Shukshin, as posem suggested, and his Russian accent wasn't good you wouldn't believe that this guy was from Russia and you'd feel let down by it
Where's the Derby Dumpling?!

Hey, Silver. Perhaps he could have a walk thru part, such as one of the Hare Krishna types on Oxford Street in The Lost Years. At least he wouldn't get to display his talent for accents, if the talent at all exists!! And of course, there's the added problem of having to be a cadr-holding member of Equity. The Union for all these Luvvy types!!

I doubt Equity would be a problem for the creative force behind the film making an appearence in it, Stan Lee doesn't seem to have the problem...

As for main people in the first book Brian could play, I reckon only Borrowitz fits the bill but as Silver pointed out Brian's acticting ability and Russian accent may let him down...

Maybe he could to one of the incorpereal dead locals in a certain Hartlepool cemertary, and he could have a brief chat with Harry........or he could be the maths teacher and former head of Harrys school and departed father of his maths teacher who put Harry onto his Maths talent and was obviously one of his first dead friends and probably helped set him on his course...was it Hannant???

I don't know if anyone else has already suggested this but I think Brian Thompson would make a brilliant Drogosani! He played various baddies in Buffy and he has also played the part of a bounty hunter (for aliens) in the X-files. AND I have seen him in various films playing different accents and characters! In fact I have also come up with a few ideas for other characters how about Tyler Mane for Max Batu, he played Sabretooth in X-Men? I think Eric Stoltz (Memphis Bell, Butterfly Effect) could play Alec Kyle. Bill Nighy could play either Keenan Gormley or Gregor Borrowitz he had brilliant prescence in Underworld! Anyway they are just a few ideas I'm sure others have already mentioned!

I kinda see Bill Nighy as Ian Goodly. He'd be ideal!! Good shout for the rest tho'. Can't disagree with you on those choices.

I'm not sure where I stand with casting of the movie.
Has anyone watched the HBO series "Rome"?
Great series cast mostly by reletive unknowns.... well unknowns in the United States at least. Not sure about in Great Britian as I believe most of the actors are from that region.
Great actors, great cast and story... all adds up to not needing big name draws.

Ahha Ian Goodly, I can see that actually good call Chris! I have seen "Rome" advertised Canker, not sure where, so I might just have a look at the cast and see who's there! I think that whoever they get to play the key parts not everyone will be happy as that is just human nature but it's fun letting your imgination go with who would be your ideal cast!

I think you'll find that Ciaran Hinds is in that 'Rome' thingy! It's just been released as a 4 DVD special as far as I can remember. I think he'd be good as someone like Savinkov or Yefros or possibly one of the Franczescis men from Lost Years.

I hope the Creator would like a cameo, just a "quickie" appearance, to be immortalised on celluliod. The Legendary Mr Lee pops up for 25 frames + in most of his comic to movie creations. Ever see him in the Hulk movie? Mr Lee walks out of the labs talking with Lou Ferigno (the original and classic 1980's Hulk), very brief. Mr Lee also appears very briefly in all the Spiderman movies, doing a quick hero stint, whisking someone out of mortal danger.

But enough of the Honourable Stan Lee comparisons. Mr Lumley is a literary artist, and the "graphics" are created more individually in the mind of the reader.

Personally I think the Creator would enjoy being the late PE teacher, ex-army fellow from Necroscope 1 to help Harry kick ass, and pops up in the Lost years to help out also, if I recall correctly.

Oh and Posem, you are mental btw lol

Here is my shortlist (will update as I find them)

Harry Keogh - David Tennant More Info

Boris Dragosani - Karel Roden (he was Rasputin in Hellboy (imagine getting that hand stuffed somewhere tender... I would tell him anything!!!!))

Lardis Lidesci - Jean Reno

Jake Cutter - Lou Diamond Phillips

Watch this post... I'm good eh???

No Bill Nighy... he's in way too many films as it is!

If Brian was to take an active role (as if he isn't busy enough!) I think some sort of narrative, non-visual role would be great. Anyone who has heard his readings at any of the KeoghCons knows how mesmerising his voice is.

And David Tennant for Harry... great choice!

Gimme some of whatever the hell you are on Posem. I just had some good old Rum n Grass and still want some of what you're on!!!!!

Im on book 2 of Ebranch.... Im glad Posem isn't an anagram of Wally or I would be more scared of a tin of beans n sausages... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!

Yeah, back to reality.... er NO!!!!

Fantasy rules, Peter Pan is God and Shaitan is a right bass!!!!

The guy from hellboy (Karel Roden) I think would do well as any of the Russian badasses, Im sure he's got some aspiring english speaking mates to fill in for the rest of the Ruskies????

Right, enough drunken ramblings from the Long Lost Lord Lardbutt Bawjawz. Jean Reno should be Lardis Lidesci, would you talk back?? (wig and a hump, sorted) and how about an operative getting Luc Besson into the Necroscope Mythology and getting Bruce Willis to play the corpse being "infiltrated" by Boris in book one????!!!!!!!

Of course, I just remembered. Quentin Tarrantino originally wrote From Dusk Till Dawn, sold to a nobody, Robert Rodruiguez (spy kids) bought it up, Quentin wanted it back and funded From Dusk Till Dawn with Robert Rodruiguez. Giving a feel of hopelessness and a cowboy and western all in one.

Do you think you could do the business Mr Tarrantino?? I KNOW, I don't think!!!!

Wow, do you think if Mr Q Tarrantino had the reigns, it would ALL turn out like MEGA FANTASTIC, no comparison, the Vampire Mythology rewritten in celluloid with the Lumlian TOUCH, immortalised on the Cinema Screen???

Of course Lord Quentin Tarrantino, would have to take a step to the side for the Great Lord Grandmaster Lumley and do as commanded...

Right im off to bed, goodnight folks

Yip !
