I'm thinking along the lines of Julian Sands, Jeff Goldblum, tall, lithe, but solid. Not necessarily either of them, but like them, ya know? This is for the Wamphyri of course.

Christian Bale as Alec Kyle-soontobe-Harry Keogh works for me. Bale plays an excellent younger guy, but he's starting to look closer to his age. (31)

Fair point guys, I just couldn't be bothered to give enough thought into a death he diserves, but if I did he's not even a tid bit so would go straight to the provisioning without a second thought.

Ahh, my first post... So, first off, Hello everyone! .

Right, casting...

Dalip Singh - Fess Ferenc: as has already been stated, he's already huge, so would suit perfectly.

Alan Rickman - Shathis: He's such a good actor, it'd be a shame to waste his talent.

Michael Clarke Duncan - Canker Canison (if they got this far) another massive guy with a really deep rumbling voice, great for the dog Lord!

I had others in mind, but can't remember them now. Typical eh?

When I'm reading the novels I always picture Johnny Depp as Dragosani and Triple H as Shaithis.

Johnny depp as Bodescu? Seems more likely.

Triple H? Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh! Not another bloody wrestler (sic) again! He was fkn awful in Blade Trinity - allegedly.

Jeff Goldblum.. maybe someone like him for Ian Goodly. (Well, you know we need an English Accent).

Jeff Goldblum... English! Er......!! Think we've done this one, but Bill Nighy as Goodly mite seem like a devilish ploy. I have foreseen it!

Sophie, I agree with you on the Peter Steele from Type O Negative. He might not be a great actor, as I'm not familiar with his acting abilities. But he definately has the physique of a huge leiutenant or Wamphyir Lord!
I've seen TON live two times. The most recent I finally met ol' Pete. I'm pretty tall, 6'5" and slender build. Pete, Hell he's 6'8" like you said and 250-260! Made me feel like a mote, he did...He reminded me of Kurgan?sp. from the first Highlander film, striding arrogantly towards us on the sidewalk to talk to us and sign autographs.

OK here's my opinion such as it is, im guessing there gonna start with the first necroscope novel rather than going for a leap into the source, actually i believe it would be a real pity if they did, as excellent as the source is the background is too interesting just to gloss over, so working on the theory that they will do the first book first (if that makes sense) this is who i'd like to see cast in the four main roles.

Young Harry = Daniel Radcliffe (sorry but i think he would be pretty good)
Alec Kyle = David Tennant
Keenan Gormley = David Jason
Boris Dragosani = Richard O Brien or Steve Buscemi

Obviously if they eventually get round to making The source there's a hell of a lot more people i'd like too see involved. Again though i'll list the main characters

Jazz Simmons = Clive Owen
Zek Foener = Scarlett Johansen
Shaithis = Jeremy Irons
Fess Ferenc = Micheal Clarke Duncan
Lady Karen = Angelina Jolie
Lardis Lidesci = Anthony Hopkins (maybe too old)

Anyhoo thats what i reckon, thanks

I think that Anthony Hopkins is too old Duncan, but I like Jeremy Irons as Shaithis and I like the idea of Richard O'Brien in there somewhere, though I think he's too old to be Dragosani.

Possible director...

Ok first off hi to all, I'm bit of a newbie here but a massive fan of the Necroscope series.

So I had a bit too much time on my hands at work today and tried to come up with a director a bit out of left-field. How about Timur Bekmambetov, a Russian director. You may or may not of heard of him, if not rush out and watch Night Watch. Night Watch is a superb film about the battle between the forces of Light and Dark set in modern day Moscow, won't say any more so as not to spoil it.

Will take some time over the next few days to come up with some cast members and then post these for your critical analysis.

Thought about it...maybe they should do it in teamwork..i mean..like Indiana Jones..with George Lukas and Steven Spielberg...maybe..Timur Bekmambetov and Peter Jackson ..one from the west and one from the east..to make it more..authentic!?

I loved Night Watch, and cant wait for Day Watch to come out over here. I think the director would do a really good job. I think its also a good idea from Ilya Sul about one from the east and one from the west, but what about giving it to an English director? just add a different, stronger contrast?

Ok I've had far too much time on my hands at work AGAIN today. Although I have had to shift 15 brand new Mac Pros and 30 monitors around.

Good to see my previous post was well recieved and sparked off a few new ideas from both Ilya and Pheonix. Just a couple of points though.

Ilya I think you'll find that Lucas produced Raiders and the new Indy 4 rather than co-directing with Spielberg, I think that two directors would in most cases cause more trouble than good. However, perhaps it would be possible to have Jackson producing like his is supposed to be doing on the up-coming Halo film.

That said (and I am a massive Peter Jackson fan!) I agree with Pheonix that it would be nice to try to keep up the British contingent as much as possible. To only problem is that at the moment I cannot think of a decent British contemporary horror director other that Neil Marshall, the director of Dog Soldiers and The Descent, and I don't think that he is quite up to it at the moment. Maybe someone else can come up with some alternatives.

As for my ideas for cast members I have had some thorghts but still not any definite ideas, in fact only one I want to share at the moment. I did hear Daniel Radcliffe's name mentioned previously, which is fair enough, he's British, about the right age or can act younger and a resonable actor. However, maybe someone who has seen Roman Polanski's 2005 version of Oliver Twist (I have only seen trailers) can help. How about Harry Eden, the Artful Dodger. Again he is British, he is about the right age or can act younger and he is less well know so will not instantly be associated with wizards and magic which is a bonus.

More as and when,

Painnik.
