Sorry if I pee of non footy fans, but I just wondered on my fellow Lumlians opinions on Footballs showpiece this weekend.. Southampton v Arsenal -- the wee Scottish giner v Wenger the Winger.

As a Leeds fan my support goes to Southampton and Strach the man ...are there any Lumley Southampton fans out there???

I also wondered if you get the FA Cup final on American TV ...and if anyone in the USA takes any interest anyway?

I'm afraid to ancient's dismay I'm going to have to admit to being a Man Utd fan (we got are trophy back we got are trophy back)so not rubbing it in just I'm slightly prone to fottball outbursts like DIRTY LEEDS, Once again I am sorry for that I'll try to keep it under wraps.
Any hoo I'm suporting southampton mainly cos I hate the Gooners so much but also cos strach was an ex red's player as well and a damb fine one if I do say so myself (RIO-RIO-RIO) sorry ancient I don't know what came over me

    Thumbs down

Won't be watching the game as Southampton beat us in 76 and Big Frank Stapleton bagged the winner for Arsenal in 79.
Not that I'm a person to bear grudges going back nearly 30 years.

I watched part of US V Mexico the other night. tied O-O.

It's hard to find any football on television over here but if that's the way games go all the time then I'll stick with football.

I do like hockey though, and wonder if it ever gets that fast-paced and exciting. I'm sure it would in person but TV doesn't seem to do anything for it.

I played all through my childhood and I'm a huge fan of sport in general, but I can't get into it for some reason...

I feel that HH is becoming deservin of a beating-ancient 1-care to join me? On the topic-I'll probably be supporting the Saints although I do have an inexplicable aversion to any team that play in red!
Deano if you're out there, have you now completely defected to rugby? We'll miss ya next season.

Red .. As Leeds fans we can't rise to the bait set by our fellow Lumlian HH .... All I can say is that the the Whites will return stronger next season under the management of Monkey Head Reid.. and we will be like a Phoenix rising from the ashes!!

However if I our esteemed compadres across the pennine nick either Kewell or Robinson .. I'll be right behind you Red with my size 10 doc Martens!!! WE ARE LEEDS!!!

To answer Red Willow, I haven't completely deserted football, I still look out for West Ham's results, It's just that I prefer rugby.

I stopped going to football, when the prawn sandwich brigade rolled in, and you needed to take a mortgage out to afford a season ticket.
The players earn far too much, and don't put in half as much effort as they used to, and what about loyalty...Jermain Defoe put his transfer request in, less than 24 hours after relegation..aaaarrrrggghhhhhhh
I better stop now as I feel a rant comimng on.... Next week I will be going to watch Wasps hopefully win their first European trophy, It is costing me a fraction of the price you would pay to see the equivalant footie game, and I can sit in the stadium next to the opposing teams supporters supping a pint of beer

Deano ... your rant is totally warranted -- too much cash and egos involved. Defoe was a complete arse!! Sorry to see em go down.

Raider .. what do you mean regarding the monkey head????

Good manager in the first division maybe but never going to cut the mustard in the Premier.

It'll be another relegation fight for your boys next year.

I am afraid that that is the consensus amongst many of the Leeds fans as well .... if we lose 2 or 3 of our best players (kewell, robo, viduka) together with the departure of Eddie Gray (Leeds hero) yesterday its going to be pretty difficult to muster much hope for next year.

Cue the arrival of some Sunderland cast-offs ... a relegation dog fight could be the order of the day again.

But as a Leeds fan - we have to look on the bright side......

There's always a bright side for Leeds-even if it is just the sun reflecting off a sea of white. We'll be fine, it may be a struggle but we'll stay up godammit!!
Deano-fair enuff reasons. beer vs prawn sandwiches? not really competition (seafood every time!)
btw, female Leeds fans drink more beer than male Chelsea fans! heehee-don't mess with me, I might fall over!
