    Necroscope in French

    Hi every one.

In France we can read Necroscope 1 and Vamphirii 2 but nothing else of the great work of Brain Lumley. The volume 3 was to be published but the publisher said that rights were sold ?!? It'a amazing we have only two books in french of 20 books published and many many many frenches are waiting for years the translation of all the others. In Germany they can read up to the volume 5 !?! Can someone or Mr Lumley himself tell me if we will have the chance to read continuation of Vamphirii in french. I can badly write in english but Im'not able to read and understand a book as it as to be...please...help.

We...(the Germans) are already thrown into the BLOODWARS...as far as I know..
Well I can totally understand your problem and your need to read on..and they seem to translate so f****** slowly...that I couldn't wait...I read the English volumes...well..that was the only way out...because after the third novel the problem will be there again..and again... :/
I would advise you to buy the English novel...and simply start reading..that is what I did...and after a time it worked pretty well...don't fear the Englisch language

I suppose the only problem is that it takes so long to get translated from English into French, the end result has The Touch of 'je ne sais quoi' about it (as in gets lost in translation)...................

I contacted the french publisher (Fleuve Noir [Dark River in english]) of the two first novels and he told me that "it's not a problem of translation but a real problem of rights." He was on the publishing of the books 3 : "The Source" and had to give back the rights... It's AMAZING, translation and cover was done !!! ... and nothing edited

THat's a real shame.. I agree without German cousin - it might be best to read in english and wait and see if french versions ever appear?

That's terrible, I hope they manage to get something sorted out soon for you.

I also have to agree that if it's a choice between trying to read it in a different language or wait for what could be a very long time with no guarantee of it ever being published in mine, I'd deffinately start trying to read it in a different language!
