If you've never been to Torquay before...
![]()
I would say this one is rather obvious.
Torquay Seafront promenade ... if you look along to the blue awning, that’s Café Mojo and your Fish & Chippies.
Another one that’s quite obvious.
Not bad, eh?
Notice how nicely I’ve marked the bar area for you?
Picked up this postcard at the hotel. You can see the great seafront view ... the back of the hotel, the all important bar area and the view from the restaurant/lounge area.
This is Appleby’s, 45 paces away from our hotel. And as you can see, they have a rather large outdoor area which we may well be able to make use of. The weather is still normally decent this time of year you can sit out without shivering.
The front view, naturally.
This was taken right outside the entrance to Appleby’s. Our hotel entrance is right between the two cars. And hey, this wasn’t planned. I was waiting for the cars to get out of the way ... but they just kept coming ... so I said the heck with it and clicked anyway.
Looking across Appleby’s car park you’ll see the footbridge. To the left of the footbridge is Café Mojo.
This was taken outside of McDonalds, where you’ll enter Union Street from the multi-storey car park. It’s the upper end of Union Street.
This is the bottom half of Union Street.
This was taken at the cross section at Market Street halfway down Union Street. From this intersection down Union Street is a pedestranized area.
The bottom of Union Street looking up to top of town center.
An overview. This picture was taken all the way down at the Hog’s Head Pub looking all the way up to the top of town center.
This continues on the photo above, obviously in the other direction. The end of Union Street and the beginning of Fleet Walk. This goes all the way down to the seafront.
Fleetwalk taken from the seafront end, where you’ll end up walking down from the photo above.
And last, but certainly not least, as far as you can go. This photo was taken from a new Torquay bus line that’s starting up outside our house which takes to this area shown. The golden building bottom left, is the Pavilion, where inside you’ll find shops and an upstairs cafe. Top left you’ll see a dome like netting. This is Living Coasts, the newest attraction to Torquay. And right to the front of that is the Brewer’s Fayre restaurant.

We're missing Torquay already, we're really looking forward to spending another holiday down there and going on some more sight seeing tours around the outlying areas. We had a brilliant fortnight last year even if I did practically contract whooping cough and then give it to Brian

You should have seen the very sinister figure outside Woolworths a couple of years ago... Pete (The Helm) looking very green and hungover
sitting on a bench.

Woolworth's?
I thought he had more style than that.
He could have at least chosen Ottakers. Which, by the way, is no longer there, thanks to Waterstone's.

Im new but I have been a Lumley fan for a very long time, and I own all of the necroscope series except the comic books that iam just now finding out about ( will have to be looking for them now) and the Titus Crow series, Pscychomack series, House of Cthullu series and so on!! I would just like to say Lumley is the best author out there and I would love to make it to a KeoghCon, do they ever happen in the United States???
