This book simply blew. It was not good. Slow moving, and very, very little Necroscope powers demonstrated until the bitter end of the book. This venturing off into extraterrestrial territory for subject matter did not work AT ALL. I loved every other Necroscope book in the series, but these weak "golden darts" giving a smattering of Necroscope powers here and there, is also less than satisfying. I sure do hope that Lumley re-thinks this direction, and returns us to the REAL nitty gritty of Necroscope characters and powers.
I hope nobody is offended by this, but i really think Mr. Lumley should know that this was less than his best effort, by far.

I thought "The Touch was a fine story. You have to look at it as a stand alone story with connections to the Necroscope books.

Does anyone have an opinion as to why zorroe11 would refrain from posting here to discuss the works of the master, if he /she HAS read the entire Necro series, only to post a 'negative', without as much as an introduction???
I do.
But I try to be civil on internet forums and I'm trying(very hard) to keep it that way.
Hope you feel better tomorrow zorroe.
P.S. You hope no-one is offended by this. . . . . . . . .

Thanks for your comment on my posting. The reason I never posted before, although I loved every Necroscope book, whether it took place on Earth or Starside/Sunside, is that a friend, after hearing my comment, told me of this site. This is how I discovered it. (Maybe ex-friend might better describe him after my comments and their response. lol.) In any case, I meant to cause no offense or distress, and the comments were heartfelt, yet STILL from a big Lumley fan. And I would definitely have posted great reviews before this on the other books had I known of this site's existence. Take care.

Thanks for your reply. It's hard to look at it as a stand-alone because of the long history of the Necroscope mythology. Viewed in that light, I was less than thrilled. Honest, when I bought the book, I could not wait to read it and, while doing so, I was waiting for the old fire, which I felt was simply not there. But, I do see your point, even though one would have to know the general story to appreciate the book due to the references therein.

Thanks for your reply to my comment. I have a few other zealous replies as well shooting me down, and I accept that. My opinion was meant as honest criticism, and why you decide to resort to personal attack is beyond me, but nevertheless I do appreciate your takin the time to reply. I am a big Necroscope fan, and I assumed, wrongly, that a fan could post something less than a stellar comment without getting a verbal lynching. I see it isn't so, but have a great day anyway.
