Looks like Brian has another rare one coming out this summer from Endeavor Press.

Description: Not seen in the United States since 1981 in Weird Tales, and 1998 in the collection A Coven of Vampires, in a very limited edition, it is now out of of print in the USA and of limited availability in the UK. The House of the Temple, a Mythos novella, will be released in a Limited, illustrated, hardcover edition by Endeavor Press in the summer of 2003. All copies will be signed by the author and both artists. Accompanying the title story will be Brian Lumley’s short story Swamped, not seen in print in the USA since 1986.

Cover art by Alan M. Clark, Interior art by Allen K

Bookmarked the page from Silky's note yesterday.

The House of the Temple appears in the UK collection The Sceond Wish, but I've never heard of Swamped before.

Always good to come across the rarer one-off stories like Spaghetti, The Statement of One John Gibson and The Kiss of Bugg-Shash

I guess no one got an email when this one was ready - I didn't. I just went back to the site this evening, and placed a pre-order for the House of the Temple. Well that's if the order went through OK - there's a notice saying that if you haven't heard from them, to contact some guy that runs the site (roger range, I think) anyway, follow Shadoe's link, and you should find it OK!

    Later,

Don't know if any of you guys have received confirmation when ordering these books, but I chased it up using the roggerr hotmail address and got confirmation that my order was okay today.

Might be wise if you ain't received anything yet to chase it up.....

    Hey all,

Roger just emailed me to let me know that my order went through OK... It seems the website is new, and possibly not properly tested, so I say give him a chance and let things settle a bit, although, I would email him if you haven't heard a thing about the order!

Would like to order this, but don't really have the time to be chasing the order up, so I might wait a little til his system's settled down a bit more...

I have THE HOUSE OF THE TEMPLE in a Horror Anthology edited by Steve Jones. I found the book in a bargain bin at a Borders Bookstore. All in all its a real good Mythos story, with a strong build up to a striking climax.

    You'll all LOVE it!

I also have that horror anthology, it's called The Giant Book of Horror and I also bought it at a bargain price, though mine was from The Works.

I got it mainly for The House of the Temple which I loved but the other stories in it are great too. Theres one from Clive Barker, F Paul Wilson Ramsay Campbell and loads of other writers. At just 5 pounds it was well worth it!

not read that one, but on the point of FPW, it was a short story that got me hooked on his work in the first place... and if it wasn't for a Lumley story appearing that collection I probably wouldn't have been tempted to buy it at the time
