I just finished Defilers and LOVED it! I'm sure it takes a hell-of-a-lot-of-work to write something so great and I'm glad Brian keeps trucking on. It's gonna be strange after next years book when there are no more new vampire stories. Which brings me to my question for you all. Do you think Brian will still write about the vampires only something completely different than E-Branch and the characters we already know? Or is he finished with any and all vampires?
Peace,
Bobby

I have to agree with you Shaithis. I've read a lot of vampire novels but usually they're about the same 'Bram Stoker' kind of bloodsuckers. Brian's are much more realistic and fun to read about

I hope he's not finished with Vampires. Until I read Brian Lumley's books I thought HOW COOL to be a vampire. Brian is the only author who has made me think, twice and thrice about being a vampire. Again I say, he's amazing in just that aspect. I was describing Brian's Vampires the other day to someone who hasn't read his books and the most simple way to do that was to say, if you take Anne Rice's Vampires (don't get me wrong, I love them too) and Bram Stoker's Dracula, pit them against each other in a no holds barred fight, I'd put my money on Brian's Wamphyri to win the fight. However, thinking about it, Anne's Vampires, the ancient ones like Akasha and the Twins, might put up a better fight than the old Count! Okay, discuss amongst yourselves.

Remember, This was originally supposed to be a trilogy. 12 books later and the thirteenth on the way.
After the first five, he wnet back and covered the lost years, then moved on to the Vamp Worlds.
He has left himself an out in the writing through all of this. It may take a while but I don't think we are at an end. He has nathan doing battle in the VW while E-Branch fights them here in Defilers and Invaders. I think he still has a lot of Wamphyri left in him.
There is till Turgosheim, The leutenants left after Vavara and the guys left. The mushroom farms here on our earth that could possibly start another book or two when the story comes to him. Harry Juniors lost years.
He has written the books to be built upon. I think it will take a while but I believe we will have more.

I think that Nathan vs the necromancer Thyre would be an interesting book, but if this is the end, then I guess I will just have to start reading over!

I was just thinking about this the other day. I'm sad that this series is going to be finishing up soon. I don't have much time to read but for the past few years it's been Brian's books. Brian must have tons of other ideas about different vampire stories swimming around in his head. I'm sure he'll follow up the Necroscope series with another journey through a new vampire world. Actually, I pray he does...but whatever he puts out next I'm sure I'll love. He just gets into your head!

I have to admit that I'm really sorry to see the last of Brian's vampires but agree with Dragutin that the books have left a lot of avenues for Brian to take should he ever decide to come back to them at a later date.
I am reading the Dreamland series at the minute, I'm on the last one. I have been reading them real slow to make them last but their coming to an end
. I would like to see some more of Hero and Eldin, they are wonderful characters, unlike the serious and conservative Titus Crow or the dreamer DeMarigny, they are hilariously funny, sometimes even when they don't mean to be also the Dreamlands make for fantastic story lines.
Whatever Brian decides to do after the end of the Necroscope series, he can't really go wrong imho anyway.
