When Darcy Clarke was head of E-Branch he recieved a message from the MinRes. What did the computer ask from him when he entered the phone number and why the significance of it?

If you find the passage that relates to an incident at Hyde Park then you are close.

The computer asked Darcy for his security clearance, and that was the first time he ever had to use/ give it.

And the phone number was to a nuclear bunker outside of the city where the MinRes could be contacted if need be.

a) What is the name of, and type of, missiles fired into the Perchorsk Gate to prevent anything from ever emerging onto Earth again?

b) How many missiles were launched?

HH got it!

Tokarev Mk II nuclear exorcets (I thought the term was exocet, no "r," but it is clearly spelled with the "r.")

And two were to be fired automatically once the firing sequence was begun.

kenny, if it helps the answer/ info is on page 500 of "Deadspawn" in the Tor paperback printing 1991.
