Smile JANUARY UPDATE 2009...

NOTE TO REGULAR MONTHLY READERS: Additions or changes in blue.

NOTE: Always check Brian’s Area Messages/Breaking News as there may be something there that is not in the monthly update.

PUBLICATIONS: (Please keep in mind that all dates are tentative and subject to change.)
  • From http://www.yog-sothoth.com … here’s a radio interview: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=527
  • March 2009. Solaris UK. Well, these two novellas titled For the Dead Travel Slowly and Harry and the Pirates along with an introduction and end piece called Man With A Blade ... will be in the book, however, the book as is was too small for Solaris … so they have added all the Necroscope stories with the new ones. So you’ll also get: Dead Eddy, Dinosaur Dreams and Resurrection. So this will be a bonus as you’ll have all the stories from “The Lost Years.” Except for the novella Brian is working on now. Amazon.com has this for pre-order in trade paperback from Solaris.[/b] http://www.amazon.com/Necroscope-Har...2167355&sr=1-3

  • July 2009. Necroscope: Harry and the Pirates and Other Tales From the Lost Years. Two novellas titled For the Dead Travel Slowly and Harry and the Pirates along with an introduction and end piece. Tor Books. I have seen the preliminary jacket on this … Eggleton … and it’s fantastic. You can preorder from Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Necroscope-Har...89/ref=ed_oe_h

  • May 2009. The Nonesuch & Others. Subterranean. Titles in the book: The Thin People, previously published, naturally. Stilts, by the same narrator which only appeared in the 2003 World Fantasy Convention Book, and by the same narrator a new unpublished story The Nonesuch. Bob Eggleton will be doing the art. Pre-order now: http://www.subterraneanpress.com/Mer...oduct_Count=78

  • September 2009 The Ghost Quartet Tor Books, trade paperback. Contains: A Place of Waiting.

  • October 2009 Screaming Science Fiction In trade paperback from Subterranean Press.

  • Late 2009. Necroscope® TOR Books, USA. There’s going to be a relaunch of Necroscope, Vamphyri, The Source & Deadspeak. To attract a new generation of readers to Nec there will be new jackets on each of the first four books and the price will be lowered to $4.00 US. This will be a limited run so when they are available I suggest you collectors who require everything Lumley … grab them up. When I get an actual publication date I’ll let you know. Once this limited run is going it will back to the normal selling price.

WHAT’S IN THE WORKS: (Please keep in mind that items are always subject to change.) Once I have an actual publication date an item will move up to the Publications section.
  • Brian has two other stories in mind he wants to write if time permits. After all, he has to have something to do during the winter months when he can’t use the pool or work in the garden…
  • Early 2010 TOR Books, USA. The following are being planned. Keep in mind that this is subject to change at any time but at least it’s keeping you informed … which is what I always try to do.
  • The Dreamlands. Hero of Dreams, Ship of Dreams, Mad Moon of Dreams, Iced on Aran. New packaging with Sword/Sorcery jackets I believe. And possibly as an omnibus of two novels per book.
  • House of Doors/Maze of Worlds Trade paperback reissues.
  • Psychosphere Trilogy Trade paperback reissues.
  • The Very Best of Best New Horror. edited by Stephen Jones. Story will be No Sharks In The Med. As soon as I have a publication date you’ll find it here.

APPEARANCES:
  • Sorry, it doesn’t look like the signing in March at Forbidden Planet in London mentioned in the newsletter is going to happen.
  • May 9, 2009. Saturday, Dark Delicacies, Burbank, CA. 10:30 AM-11:45 AM. Brian will only be in the shop to sign books and then he’s out of there. You can sign up for the newsletter to be informed. http://darkdel.com/
  • March 25-28, 2010. The World Horror Convention, Brighton, UK. This will be run by Stephen Jones who many of you know. This will make a great meet up over here for all the KeoghConians. Allen & Chris Koszowski are planning to come over as well as Bob & Marianne Eggelton. http://www.whc2010.org/
