I just finished reading "The Fairground Horrour" and there's a quick mention of Chandler Davies' painting of a "G'harne Landscape" and of his mistress burning it on sight. Where else have I read about this?

I know the necroscope series could be the greatest movie series ever, but what of the psychomech trilogy. Why hasn't any hollywood hounds sniffed out the money under those covers? The guy became a god! The Lawnmower Man coulnd't even hang on to Richard's nuts under the best of circumstances.

Remember that term from the forward to A Coven of Vampires? Well I just came across a passage last night that fits that description perfectly. I had read it before, a couple of years ago, but for some reason I must have blocked out the details... Let's have everyone's favorite splatterpunk moments from Lumley's books, Necroscope or otherwise. Doesn't have to be verbatim as I have done with this passage from 'Khai', but I'm interested in what really sicked you guys out...

I did suggest to Joeann to start a topic for this but thought I'd actually do it myself. Demogorgon often gets overlooked in the vast quantity of Brian's work. Is this because people think it's not as good? If not, why not, and if it is why is it, and why do you think it isn't talked about as much as the other stuff? In Brian Lumley news, we’ll be printing a two volume “Best of” set that collects his Mythos stories, those familiar and obscure, each tale featuring a spot illo by Lumley's favorite artist, Bob Eggleton. The third book is a reprint (with a slightly revised table of contents) of his ultra-hard-to-find short story collection, A Coven of Vampires. We say “revised” because a few of the tales that originally appeared in this volume -- copies of which we've seen sell for as high as $300 on the auction site Ebay -- will take their rightful places in the Mythos volumes, so Brian will be re-jiggering the contents a bit, adding some blood sucking obscurities to round the new e…

I was wondering what other peoples favourite books or series have been apart from Necroscope. Having read and enjoyed most of Brian's books, my favourite would have to be the Psychomech trilogy (esp Psychamok), and The House of Doors books

I just thought I would remind everyone that Sorcery in Shad: Tales of the Primal Land is being released on September 5. So those of us that are more recent to discovering Lumley get a chance to own this book. I love the first two in the series and I can't wait get my hands on this one.

Are there any of Brian's works that you are short of? Any particular editions that you've always wanted, but never had the opportunity to get? I know the net has loads of out of print book sites - but I'm thinking of something a little simpler... I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm always on the look-out for Brian's books. Even copies of stuff I already own. Its those times...when I stand in a second hand bookshop, looking at the BL books before me, thinking 'I've got this - but I wonder if anyone else would need it?' So - If you have any 'Wants', put them here. Maybe we can look out for each other...

Hi First of all, sorry for posting this question here. It’s a little off topic, but I couldn’t find anywhere else to post it (I'm new ). My question to you is actually a copyright question, that I’m hoping someone here can help me with. I’m a bit of an artist and I’m currently planning making a sculpture of one of Brian Lumley’s creations (a Chthonian to be precise), but the I started thinking, can I actually do that with out getting into trouble? I should probably say that I also what to sell casts of the sculpture when I’m finished. So do you know if I’m breaking any laws by doing this? Or is things like protected by some kind of artistic freedom stuff…

I don't think I've posted in this forum at all because the only other series' that I've read were Psych- and House of Doors, but here goes. I'm just about to finish the first Mythos Omnibus and will (hopefully) buy the second soon. But I just noticed something. The Primal Lands books seem to be an extention of the Mythos, but they're only found in US Hardcover. (as far as I can see) Will there be or are there UK hardcover or paperback? And the Dreamland ones? I tend to prefer the UK versions to the US ones. They have a 'better' flavour if you ask me.

Hi everyone, i'm a newbie. Got a question regarding a coven of vampires. I recently saw this on ebay being sold by Silky and the item description mentions the book having missing text. I have two copies of this book,(the paperback, and one copy does indeed have the missing text and the other doesn't. Anyone else have this? Is it rare? Worth more than the complete one? Also, are corrected proof books collectable? I have a Brian Lumley one, thinks it's a dreamland one, can't rememer. Anyway, any help would be great and this is a fantastic site, Oddity.

Absolutely love necroscope series, currently rereading for third time. I'm thinking I should probably give something else of Brians a go now, as I haven't read any of his other works. Just like to know what all of you think would be best to go with next. Are his other books as grim and gory as the Necroscope series?

For those of you who haven't been around long or are just delving in to the non-Necroscope works, I've looked up in the attic and compiled a few interesting threads for you to read through and respond to if you'd like. I even threw in some Neccies too. Be warned though... you might not want to click some of them if you've yet to read that particular gem. Spoilers abound in a few of 'em. But when you are done, come back and give us your thoughts. Anyone else feel free to climb the ladder to the attic, dust off the boxes, find topics you found interesting, and post the link here. Save people without the inclination (or the know-how) from having to do it. I …
