Am I the only one that feels the Subscription system is quite conviluted and un intuitive? I am fully aware of the reasoning behind the subscription but many of the aspects are a complete over kill, such as no web mail? why not? surly if ewb mail is good enough for Ebay and Amazon it should be here? Im not having a go at Shadoe's system but it has put me off of joining the elite subscription system for years (although I did just fold on that front and subscribed this morning). How many other people would be paying there $10 if the subscription system was easier?

Hey all, just checking in again to say that I'm starting Deadspeak tonight having finished The Source today at lunch. Before this I never knew the feeling of wanting to just close one book and start the next as if it was just another turn of the page. Wow, what a ride. Sorry if I'm just a gushing newly-bitten babbler right now, but I can't help it!

Just a quick note to say hi to all Lumley fans, I read the vampire world novels years ago but have only recently read the Necroscope series. I just need to fill in some gaps with the lost years, e-branch, and Harry Keogh - Necroscope novels now and I'll be up to date Im from Manchester in the UK [ June 07, 2006, 08:03 AM: Message edited by: SBWolf ]

Hi! I'm Amarfa. I was a member a long time ago, before there had to be a paid membership. I'm just now returning to the horror I love so much, just in time to realize I can't sign up for the Con this year! I've always wanted to go, but *sigh* I live in the States and while I work in a hotel, the airfare alone would suck my savings dry... But eventually Shadoe will get my blood..er...money, and i shall perforce be an elite member and able to post my picture up on the wall and make a proper introduction.

  5. Hey guys and gals, I just came upon this site, I have nothing to do with it and it doesn't require you spend money, that belongs to a matte painter or a matter painter is involved with it and some of the scene he did for Van Helsing look so much like what Brian writes about in some of his books I wanted to share it with y'all. Take a look. http://www.alpaltiner.com/alp_navigation_html/alp_mattepainting.html Let me know what you think.

Well hello all... Recently just finished the "Necroscope" saga (just those first five books) and decided to have a look around and see if there was some quality rambling around the place. I've still got the "Vampire World" trilogy, so I am told I have some spectacular reading in store there. I look forwarded to reading what everyone here has had to say about the works, which really have carved a more interesting vampire mythos than I have read in a while.

Hi all, I started reading the Necroscope series a couple of years ago after my parents bought me Vampire World 3: Blood Wars from a car boot sale. I enjoyed reading it even though I was plunged head first into it without knowing the background of the story. Since then I have bought the original necroscope series and the Vampire World books(currently reading the last aerie) and I am looking forward to reading the other Necroscope books. I'm from County Durham just like Brian, but I'm currently at Salford University studying Computer Science, I'm in my final year now and graduate in a couple of months.

Hello all, I guess I'm as green as it gets. I'm not only new to the message board but have only just this week finished my first Brian Lumley book, Necroscope. I'm cursing myself for not ordering the second one sooner, for now I must WAIT a few days for it to come in and be able to resume the series... a mistake I will not repeat! I feel as though I'm on the edge of a vast forest of discovery and can't wait to venture in deeper!

I am newly bitten and just finding my way around this site. I have read Mr Lumley for years. I found the "Source" one day, read it non-stop and then went crazy to find the preceeding two books. I have been reading all of the books and then passing them along to my husband and then our youngest son. (I get them first! Greedy I am!) Great conversation as we discuss the book's characters. Sometimes that gets us looked at as "AX MURDERS". So forgive please any mistake I might make at first while I get the feel of things. By the way, the Graemlins are great! Best I've ever seen!

Stuck in hospital having skin grafts etc but there is one bonus to it all, I got time to read, what would I do without Brians books ? And for those of you wondering if my signature stands true, hell yes ! Ive never felt more alive.

As a member of several boards, I have become accustomed to the ability to upload my own avatar. Some boards even encourage seasonal changes...just for fun...like a skull with a santa hat for Christmas or a green derby for St. Patty's day. Is this feature possible on this board? I was searching for an avatar among the ones in the listing, but none of them seem to jump out and scream "ME!!"... Thanks!

Just wondering... I signed up to be an Elite Member, do I get a confirmation e-mail? or can i just go into the elite sites right away?

  14. Started by perky,

Or maybe I just see connections everywhere, since I'm so familiar with his stuff. Anyway, I saw a commercial for a new TV show where it sounded like this guy was a police detective who communicated with the dead to help solve murders. I couldn't find any info on it (and of course can't remember what the show was called). Anyone else see or hear of it? While searching for it, I did come across this TV show: (Ghost Whisperer) http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0460644/combined So am I crazy or are there more and more Lumlian-related things going on these days? lol

  15. I think, and I hope most of you will agree with me here, there is a story in all of us. I for one would like to put this theory to the test. On here. Starting now. With the help of the good people who post here. That'll be you lot then . The idea/rules of the game are simple. Four words per post to build up the story. Any words accepted (within the rules of the board) Words using a hyphen count as one word. Example: Spider-Man is one word. The only other thing I ask is that no one person posts two consecutive posts, so once you put up a reply, someone else MUST answer before you can post again. So, the start of the story is... In a world where... Good luck a…

I was the Whamphyri Mistress... chat mates felt it was way toooo long and it got abreviated to Miss Whammy, I am sooo proud to say where it comes from. The problem is that NO-ONE understands/knows the origins of Whamphyri Mistress (the beginning of a era it has become for me... daughters nick is Amii {Amiithyest Reighn} of course its Amii's Whammy...lol... Nathaniel was always to be my firsr son... boss eh!!). I was gonna make my first actual post a BEAUTY MATE, but .... its gonna take way too long.... ie the actors WHEN there is a movie!!! 19. Started by Bryan,

This is my first time joining a messageboard anywhere so I'm not really to sure what to say. I have been reading Brian Lumleys' books for only about 2 years. I started w/ The Necroscope series and since finishing that been looking at other titles. My main reasons for joining were many. I have been reading horror all my young life and never before have I been more pleased with a monster than before the Wamphyri. I have quickly become huge fan of his work and have gotten almost all of my friends into the Necroscope series. I was first introduced to the series at a very young age. (not fully). My dad had the first necroscope trilogy on his old shelf and I used to look at t…

Well Hello once again. It has been some time for me to be in the Lumley chat rooms. But I'm back! Many things have past by the bridge and I must say I have not read one of Brians books for some time, but its time to pull them all out again. Fave has always been Necroscope 3 The Source and I can't wait till I get up to it again. And I guess I'll have to start adding to the collection of any new books I have missed over the last 4 or 5 years Cheers

If it makes anyone feel better, my email is thenecroscope@xxxxxxxxxx and my ebay ID is the_necroscope. I'm 31 and have been reading Lumley's work since about '87 when Bob's skull cover reeled me in. I started out on trash like Guy N Smith and Graham Masterton, but then gave them up in favour of Shaun Hutson. After his stuff got really boring and predictable, I discovered Brian Lumley. I've read virtually everything the guy has put into print, although there are a few short story collections I haven't got. Can't wait for Necroscope: The Touch!
