Finally got around to joining the board - been a fan ever since being after reading 'Necroscope'- enjoyed Brian's work so much I wrote a fan letter in care of the publisher- never in a million years expected a response. Actually received a letter from Brian and eventually a signed copy of Deadspeak. Love all of the books, and plan to add many more to my collection.

Hello fellow Necronuts. I read my first necroscope book about 5 or 6 years ago and have been absolutely in love with the whole series since then. But alas, in my gloomy little town it seems I am about the only one who even knows necroscope exists and so I have had no one to share my joy with. After having a quick look around here it seems all that is about to change. I look forward to discussing all things scarlet. Brian Lumley Rules!!

  4. Started by superscaper,

Just quick hello to everyone. Think I read first Necroscope about 10 years ago when I was 15 (was reading Lovecraft many years before that) and then few years later started going throught the sequels. By far they are my favourite books. I'm also into Discworld and Sci-fi stuff.

  5. Started by Lord Scorpio,

Hello I have been a Lumley fan for about 5 - 6 years now since the first time I read Necroscope. After the first book I devoured the rest of the series. Then I had to have more Lumley so I searched out his other books, which can be a chore here in the US. Bookstores sometimes carry the Necroscope books but not usually Brian's other books. So I am very thankful for the internet. I loved Titus Crow and the Dreamland Series as well as the few collections of stories I have found. Khai of Khem impressed me. I am also a proud owner of Freaks. The House of Cthulhu arrived yesterday and I can't wait to rip into it. Brian has never disappointed me. He is great at writing novels an…

Several years ago I got a copy of The Last Aerie signed by Brian in a local shop, took pride of place in my collection. Just got back from work to find the tattered piss soaked remains of that book in a soggy heap at the bottom of our house. One of our numerous and beligerent cats (or was it all five?) has absolutely trashed it, didnt touch any other book just the signed one !!!! Feckin animals, guess what we got for dinner ? Here puss puss.

Hi all. I am a returning Lumlian from about 2 years ago or more. I had a different screen name then but I seem to have forgotten it. So I just started up a new one and now I am ready to go. I just got busy with the more mundane facets of life (getting married, becoming a father, the usual) and kinda fell out of the groove but lately I have been re-re-re-reading my Lumley books and decided to see what was happening around here. Glad to be back.

Hi! I am new to the world of Necroscope, I have just finished the Source and I want more! There is never enough blood for the hunger that consumes me! Are later parts of this Saga more similar to Source or Wamphyri in style?

Hey ya'll! I'm NightShade or Laura, whichever you like better. Been reading Lumley for about 8 years. Got my aunt hooked on them too. Started with the Necroscope series, have read the Psychomech/sphere/mok series, House of Doors and Maze of Worlds. I prefer the UK editions to US editions, just cause. I have all but one of the Necroscope books in UK edition. (Wamphyri) Anyways, nice to meet you all. Be seeing some of you in Torquay.

I've been patiently waiting to hear that my registration had been approved, but today, I just couldn't wait any longer, so I tried the site, and there I was: one of the newest members! I have been reading Lumley short stories all week, and just finished Beneath the Moors. He's definitely my favorite horror author. I've never really had a fav horror author before, usually sticking to sci fi, fantasy and suspense, although I love a good vampire yarn and have read almost all the Anne Rice books. Stephen King's never been high on my list, although I did enjoy The Stand. Clive Barker is pretty enjoyable, but Lumley is so versatile, so dark and so eldritch! I may upgrade …

Look I know the story couldnt be with out Nestor becomming Whamphyri and Nathan was the ABSOLUTLY right choice to become the Necroscope..... BUT, I couldnt help feeling several times through the vamp world series, that Nestor could have been better than Harry Snr, Harry Jnr and Nathan, I cant say y.... What do u think?

  22. Started by FrostD,

Hey, just saying hey to people because I'm new here. Signed up after reading some posts and such. 8 year Lumley fan. Necroscope specifically. Wonderful stuff, and since he's by far the greatest writer on the planet, I thought I'd get to know some other people who thought the same. Here in the states it's hard to find people who can take in Lumley's writing. It's too deep. I've tried hooking about 5 people, but only one took. And he reads so slow. Anyway, I've never actually met anyone else who's ever read all the books, but I'm sure most of you have. It should be great to be able to discuss things and not have ignorant faces stare back. Well, just introduc…

  24. Now that I've outsmarted this stupid thing and figured out how to do this I can introduce myself. I'm Jade, it's not my real name, but I've been using it for five years so as far the internet is concerned it might as well be. I discovered the wonder of the Necroscope books five years ago when a friend threw the first one at me to satisfy my need for further reading about vampires because he sparked an interest that has now become an obsession. It actually surprised him when he found out I’d started buying them on my own to continue the series since he didn’t own the whole thing. I’ve only read them once and that was about four years ago. They took me maybe six months t…

How many of you remember Dark Mark? He was at the first three KeoghCons in Manchester, last year's being just a few days after the birth of his daughter. He's not been around for a while, but I just got an email from him.... he couldn't get to this year's Con as it was a bit far for him to travel... from Brisbane! Yup, he's relocated to Australia with wife and baby, but wants to send his regards to everyone, especially Brian and Silky. Trying to get his login sorted out for the Message Board, so hopefully he'll be back in touch soon. If you get to read this Mark, all the best and hope to see you round here soon!
