Necroscope: The Movie

Oh my gosh, this news is amazing, is this really happening?

So, who do subscribers think would be a good fit for the part of Harry Keogh? Further, what about video games, should we expect to see a FPS or hopefully, an in-depth RPG based in the Necroscope universe? What about TV? Personally, I would love to see the entirety of the Wamphryi adapted but if push came to shove, the first five Necroscope books of and of course, the vampire world trilogy.

This has been done before, but not for a while and not with some of you newer folks. So if you could be in the movie, what part would you play? Would you chose to be a main character, or someone less obvious - and why? I wouldn't want to be a main character - I can't act and don't look like how I imagine any of the characters to be so I would have to be an extra of some sort. What about you guys?

After doing some digging around, I cant say that I'm happy that someone has actually bought the rights to Necroscope. I Googled "Evolving Pictures", and the 2nd Google entry was about them buying rights to the Necroscope. The third entry was an IMDB profile, of two films I've never heard of, even on the indie market. For a long time I've been excited about the possibility of Harry coming to the big screen. But after researching, Evolving Pictures comes across more and more like a tax-haven company, one who buys options just for the tax breaks, and has no plans to produce them, and can then take the loss on their taxes to offset their parent company's real estate/payro…

Because I love the books here is a tribute to Brian and his awesome story telling.

I thought I'd start a new thread with this quote from Numasthrall- Very interesting idea, what part would you like to see Brian play in his own movie? I think a small walk on part would be the best, then we can all play "spot Brian" the first time we see it! Ok everyone, i know how everyone is so very excited to see the Necroscope in live action! Sounds GREAT! however i disagree(this is in MY OWN opinion) for the fact that the movie NEVER gives the BOOK justice! i mean Harry-Dragosani-Max batu- Sir Keenan Gormley - Alec Kyle......everyone in Master Lumley's Breath Taking Saga have impacted my life so much that i have to ask myself... Who has the Right....no the Privlage of taking any of these awsome and inspiring characters and binding them to a physical form? I have a mental image of what everyone looks like and i cannot bare to find that the "Actors" DO NOT GIVE THE CHARACTERS JUSTICE! And this my friends is far scarier…

shouldn't it be time to start looking for options from another Film company. I know that Necroscope is not exactly "genre defining" because it pulls from many different realms, but isn't now the time to stop dealing with a middling company, hire someone to pitch this idea, and get it done?

I just realized something...A movie of Necroscope wouldn't really work...But I think a show of it would work...B/c then you could actually get all the details into it instead of taking things out of it... Anyone else agree

When the Necroscope movie is made which actors/actresses would you like to see playing the main characters? I personally think that Harry should be an unknown actor, there isn't anyone out there at the moment that I can think of who would be able to act it right and look right as well. Also, the main characters are British and Russian (in the first book at least - may as well begin at the beginning). I think that should be considered when chosing because if they're not British/Russian they will have to be able to do a respectable accent - it will kill the film if they all sound like Keanu Reeves did in Dracula! So who do you think would be good as who?

i wish they'd get a shift on & make the bloody film already, i've been looking forward to seeing it for too long

Does anyone know any details about the movie yet? Who will be producing it? When will the movie be in production/released? Who will be/has written the script? It would be great if it is going to be filmed in the UK! If there was the option to buy-in to the movie that would be great too. For the movie Outlaws, you could go onto the website and pay £180 to have your name on the credits and be an extra in the film. They even threw in a free T-shirt! :cool:

Haven't heard anything new about the movie in a while, just wondering if there's any more info. Necroscope is to vampires what lord of the rings is to fantasy, and DUNE is to sci-fi. Both books were wrecked by the movie adaptations, I hope Necroscope is done much better. P.S. Can I recommend Jason Isaacs for a Wamphyri role, maybe Shaithis if the movies ever get that far (The Source).

As you will have seen in the November Update: Necroscope has now been optioned for a movie. The option has been paid, the check has been cashed, and we've bought the first loaf of bread. We met with two very important gentlemen in Phoenix at WFC. More on this as it develops. I expect to be adding to this in the very near future. In the meantime if you want to start any discussions, feel free. Just keep your fingers and toes crossed that all goes well...

Anyone been watching a movie and thought "those effects/that director etc. would be great for the Necroscope movie"? I have ...many a time. Just can't remember them.:confused: So whenever I see something in a film that I think could be harnessed for awesome effect in the movie I'll post it here, for debate of course. Today I watched Underworld Evolution again, I thought the effects used for Marcus, and the lycans would be unreal if used to full potential for the Wamphyri. Watching the fight at the end I could just picture Canker howling at the moon. Marcus' metaporphosing 'bat wings' looked good too. What do you think?

just a tad curious here seeing as ive been online nearly 2 yrs & in all that time the necroscope the movie webpage has been under construction. is it just me or is that a mighty long time, put it this way, i wouldn't like to be hanging by the neck waiting! come on who ever is responsible get your finger out your ****:confused:

What the hell, I have read juzt about every horror novel, series or anything out there and Brian lumely's novels are by far the most incredable of all. That being said, where in Hell is the movie????
