I think the best twists really make you think, and often confuse you. The ones that did that the most for me were the end of Necroscope I (Dragosani 'killing himself'), the end of Deadspawn (when Harry is the source of all vampires/Shaitan's never-ending life cycle), and the end of Avengers (Vampire Earth!). They really got the brain ticking over, and jaw-a-droppin'.

I pronounce Shaithis as "Shy-Th-Iss" and Wamphyri as "Vam-Fear-Ee". Though i expect the only one with 100% on this would be Mr.Lumley himself!

A few people have said it, but...The Last Aerie. It just has so much of everything in it that make Brian's books as magnetic as they are. I just couldnt put this one down, moreso than the others, there were interesting and varied Wamphyri, the tension throughout, Nestor and Canker, the whole plot was just incredibly...Lumley! Gotta be the best, but its always been as close as the pages are. Honourable mentions are Deadspeak, Defilers, and of course the original, which incedently ive read the most (3) and am planning on reading again soon

In a fight: Though Wratha does tend to go completely insane, im gonna have to go with a member of the 'old' Wamphyri. Karen would probably have the edge. Hotter: Wratha. Mmm. Thats when she isnt in a 'bad' mood Greater: Difficult. Going on the principles on what 'makes' a good (or bad) Lord or Lady, theyre both pretty close. Both were devious, Karen to the other lords in the battle for the dwellers garden, and Wratha...well to pretty much everyone except Nestor. And even he didnt get off lightly. What would happen: The old Lords and Ladies would see them as a threat, band together, and a major bloodbath would ensue. Then, finally knowing about the other Wamphyri and territory in Turgosheim, would probably seek to conquer it. Mwuahahah!

Hard to believe, but yes. The three books in the Vampire World series are absolute masterpieces! Theyre awesome separately, but flow seamlessly into eachother so that they could very well be contained in the same volume (a LOTR affair, only readable). Deadspeak was one of my favourites too, still is, but The Last Aerie (VW:2) holds that crown. Mmm. And as for the new book, i really cant wait! I finished 'Avengers' thismorning, so ive read all the Necroscope books apart from the lost years, im hankering after some more

hey everybody, just a pointless post to say hey to you all! i havent been reading Lumley for long, im in the middle of The Source (having read the first 2 books), and ive read Mythos Volume 1 so far but i was obsessed half way through Necroscope so im pretty bad now anyway, see you around here!
