  2. my first was Nec. IV- i thought the cover was cool. took me 6 tries to read the first page but I got his style down after that. loved it, loved the writing, stories, pathos, everything! without him, i never would have had a bridge from Stephen King, to NOTHING, to ANYTHING, ever, potentially. Because of him, I can now proudly say safely, I've read a wide chunk of American Fiction Literature Greats, so-to-speak. I'm still reading. Trying. I actually have begun the Thomas Jefferson Autobiography, and I was so moved when he began to write about The Declaration of Independence, I have decided to only read it so far as I've memorized it, hence. HEHEHE. I'm pretended to write in English English a bit. HEHEHE.
  3. I never once thought of any parts of his stories as containing anything 'sad.' I do, however, think the stories carry real-world ideas about relationships and dealing with life and reality- I find it fascinating how he carries a lot of weight in issuing the fantasy aspects but it is based in hardcore realism- I think he's a master storyteller and I love every story he's written. He is one of my favorite authors! I think I have about 40 of his books physically on my shelf- hardback and paperback- just spent money on him to support his work a lot once I fell in love with the badassedness of the necroscope series. Hope Brian and his are doing well!
  4. Hi necrosis! Word Up! Enjoy the Brian Lumley. If you have any questions or comments, hit me up!
  5. its been years since i read the necroscope series. did Harry have sex with this Sophia?

i would like to have you PM a link to see something about your writing! I just finished a hand-edit of my first horror short story last week: now I just need to re-type, submit to my editor, then try and find an agent or place for publication!
  7. There is no blame except where the pain game is lain. ha- poor attempt to poetize a sentence I guess. Is poetize a word? Doubt it! There are circumstances which are beyond the control of people who have done harm, that have caused them to do harm: but usually this involves culpable, willing, morally defunct fellows whom have manipulated the criminal into a life or death connundrum from which there may be no escape: words like 'hail satan', or 'give us your soul' are used in these cases, and do not excuse the actions of the 'victim'... but i do not see evidence of these circumstances in this case... i see an individual who acted on base desire with free will to inflict harm upon young children, then 'innocent'. I would like our system to allow, in circumstances such as these, the family members of the victims, just five minutes alone with the criminal in a closed room: the criminal chained to a brick wall, naked, at the mercy of... i know what I would do if I were a father in this family: i would inflict pain of enourmous eldritch portent upon the bastard; and because I have read Brian Lumley and others, my imagination is great in these matters!
  8. I own Several copies of the entire Titus Crow books, in hardcover AND paperback: 1st editions! Amazon dot com. I even bought an English 1st Edition of a few Brian Lumley books online. There are many resources out there. Find a copy of Demogorgon for $0.01. I owe Brian Lumley a lot, for inspiring me to keep reading, and then begin writing.
  9. I just read over half of the Library of America H.P. Lovecraft collection! I wish I had read it prior to enjoying Brian Lumley, It was very cool to see, in reverse, Lovecraft's influence on our venerable literary hero! i myself began writing this year. I believe I posted a large portion somewhere on this forum, and am glad to see it must have been erased. It was crap! But I am getting better at it. I started Brian Lumley with Deadspeak IV, then Necroscope I, II, III, V, Then Blood Brothers, then Found Hero Series, Demogorgon, Then Psychomech series/House of Doors, THEN Fruiting Bodies and Other Fungi, The Lost years, then Avengers/Invaders/Defilers(great treat!), then The Touch, then Khai of Khem, OH MAN I FORGOT! I read the Titus Crow stuff way back too. Now, I have a nearly complete collection, several autographed novels, including the limited print Hardback Necroscope with case, etc. CHEERS! Just pick one up and read! You will find your way.
  10. I noted the texts. However, I also note that he obviously had become delusional many years back, being that his collection was incomplete and rife with sidetracking wanna-be writings! No, but seriously, Telepathy, Hearing the Mental thoughts of greater/lesser beings, and other such things are not easily handled by many, I IMAGINE. I am angered by this person's actions, no matter. No excuse for this.

    Fresh Meat! wAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA1 just kidding.
  12. its either the title to a book that one of the characters in a Brian Lumley story had/owned/referred to: or it has something to do with Sorcerey in Shad? I dunno! AGHGHGHGHG!
  13. for the true nature of horror. i wonder if he would even understand/do justice, if he had the PRIVELEGE to write up a necroscope movie? his recent piece seemed good to those i have tlaked to that have seen it: its true 'B HORROR' style too: Plant problems. lol The Happening i think its called.

i own every single, and have read, every single Brian Lumley book available in America. bought the expensive, but worth it, necroscope limited edition hardcover, with signature: and also a couple of other 'rare' ones. i highly suggest using Amazon.com or any of silky's suggestions: you can buy good quality used paperbacks on amazon for dirt cheap; but only do so if you cannot afford to buy an nice new one: or own all of them, and want back-ups, (like me) im a braggart i guess; just a big supporter of artists/writers/musicians i love really... and damn proud of it!
  15. Check it out: I have paid over $100.00 US For One hardback by Brian Lumley; but the kewlest thing ever just happened last month: I bought several hardbacks all @ once from Amazon or some such: all new: and one of the more INEXPENSIVE ONES(only $14.50US) came to me with AUTOGRAPHS OF LUMLEY AND EGGLETON! WOOOOOOOOOOOOT! buy em if you got the $$$$$$$$
  16. Austrailia? I didnt think they HAD a safehouse in Austrailia, did they? Didnt they have a 'mobile HQ' of some sort? This is from the new series, i imagine, of course, the original HQ is in the top floor of an English Hotel: but Brisbane sounds Aussie... Now wait a minute: my Brain is ticking away: HQ in Brisbane.... Holiday Inn Select?! lol
