I enjoyed reading the first Necroscope book like no other book before. the hair stood up on the back of my neck when Thibor spoke to a young Dragosani in the criciform hills... ...but I loved The Source, and the Vampire World trilogy was amazing!

I'm delighted to announce that I've successfully encouraged my brother, Philip, to read the Necroscope books. As a Christmas gift I bought him the first novel, and Vamphyri. He quickly read the first installment and really liked it. And this evening he sent me an offline message reporting how much he is enjoying Vamphyri. He explained that in Chapter 5 pages 134-138, where George spied Yulian and Helen Ann shagging in the copse. Then George attacks Yulian and follows him into the cellar to find Georgina and Helen Ann being consumed by what Philip referred to as a "slug". Philip told me that reading that part made his heart beat in his chest like never before. Next is my girlfriend, Stephanie. I'm loaning her the first book to read. She's scanned over the excerpts on the back of the Necro books in my collection, and is very interested. I hope she likes them. Me, I just bought The Touch last night...

One of my favorite characters in the Necroscope saga is the ancient grandfather of all werewolves, Radu Lykan. I wanted him to (un)live on, and on, and on...

I'm actually in the middle of Lost Years vol.1 right now. Oh, let me tell you I'm loving it! So exciting to get back to Sunside/Starside. And the only thing I like as much a vampires is werewolves, and this Lord Radu Lykan I very much like. I don't get the sense that's he's this bloodthirsty, unrelenting creature who's let his leech take full ascendancy. Radu seems to have retained much of his human emotions. I really feel empathathetic to Radu and all his woes, even after he'd become Wamphyri. But I think Brian makes us feel sympathy for some of the Wamphyri, as well as hatred and anger for other. But this Radu I feel has been dealt a shiddy deck of cards! When reading the E-Branch trilogy, I wondered why Harry had a vendetta against Castellano, and why Jake was so driven to resolve it, besides some of the more obvious reasons...This and the fact that I'm now going back to The Lost Years knowing that many of the key players have already been vampirized. But in my opinion, I'm not sure we would need a Vampire Earth series. I think the picture was pretty much pregocnitively painted at the end of Avangers!

I wouldn't change a thing. But I do know what you mean about redundancy. But I wouldn't consider it a bad thing at all. Can you imagine writing a 13 book saga like Necroscope with the same characters that reappear in numerous volumes? Personally, when Brian uses the same words and phrases several times, it sort of makes me feel closer to the character, maybe I better identify with them...?

I'm definitely aware of that. I read the Vampire World trilogy last summer. In my original post I made mention of the fact that reading those books gave me inspiration to approach the Demon Wolf in that manner. I'm not even half way through Lost Years vol.1 yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Canker's red hair is something that I've been keeping in mind. I might take a different approach with the sculpture, since I know I don't want to go with a fox red. It's funny you should mention the Lost Years werewolf. I've just started reading the book. The picture you posted is of a latex mask that was painted and sculpted by Special Effects guru, Steve Wang. I don't recall what's it's titled. But yes, Wamus does come to mind. I actually have a resin bust and a roughly 1/5 scale resin wall plaque that I plan on customizing sometime in the future with Wamus in mind for painting inspiration.

Greetings. I just started reading Titus Crow Vol.1, The Burrowers Beneath. It's a tad difficult for me to follow what with all the reference to other books and tomes, and other Great Old Ones and Cthulhuian Bretheren. I almost feel like I've missed something... Kind of like I've started reading in the middle of a story, and I should definately know more of what's going on. Is this book a good place to start? By the way...I've not even read any HPL! I know, I know. Blasphemy! But I had these book sitting unopened for too long, and they were beckoning me. I'd greatly appreciate any direction any of you more knowledgeable folk might have to offer.

Beware of spoiler!!! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * There were many surprises in the Necroscope books I've read. None of which was more surprising to me than in E-Branch: Avengers, when the fact that Ben Trask, Liz Merrick, Millie McCleary, Ian Goodly, and Jake Cutter had become vampires was revealed! I had forecast that Jake would slowly turn and fight it, but never did I expect the others. Especially Ben Trask, with his utter hatred and loathing of the Wamphyri and their brood....Ben Trask had become that which he hated more than anything on the face of the planet, ( and a parallel one...) Wow, Brian...I mean, WOW!

Hello, All. I recently acquired a resin cast sculpture of a chacter called " Demon Wolf ". It was sculpted by Greg Polutanovich. After reading the Vampire World trilogy I came to realize than this sculpture very much reminds me of Brian's description of Canker Canison in the books. I just imagine the sculpture capturing Canker in mid metamorphosis with his elongating jaws, baying to the stars for his Silver Moon Mistress to hear. When I paint this piece I'll have Canker and the wolf-like Wamphyri on my mind, as it will affect the end result. I'll be sure to post images when I'm done painting it. Just thought some of you might find this interesting.

I started with the original Necroscope novel this time last year, and I've just finished turning the very last page of the E-Branch trilogy, Avengers. What a ride! I absolutely loved Avengers, and I didn't want it to end. I must admit: I quite nearly loathed Jake Cutter as the Necroscope in Invaders. But by Avengers, I was quite pleased with his transition, most of it anyway. I was so intrigued by Lord Szwart and his constant metamorphism. I'm just a little bit pissed that I somehow skipped over the Lost Years volumes...I'll get onto them next. But I wish I'd read them in order, especially knowing how the E-Branch trilogy ends. Then it's onto The Touch and Titus Crow. Excellent body of work, Brian. Your Necroscope is awesome...

I just remembered another good one... Maze of Worlds: In Ki-no Sung's nightmare world, when they are all in his village. Ki-no Sung's wife is pregnant, lying on a bed giving birth... to a construct which busts out of her! The description of it erupting from her distended belly was so detailed it almost made me sick. Then the construct tracks them through the jungle.
