Brian Lumley 1937-2024
Oh my Silky ... I had no idea. I just found out today and I echo the thoughts of many who have posted already. While I loved all the novels, all the short stories, all the times reading Brian's words made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, it was Brian himself that I will remember most. From the first time I met the two of you in Providence in 1997 (tempus fugit), and for the several times afterward, both of you treated me so graciously. I remember the first time we met and Brian had brought gifts for me and many others. He'd already known which of his books we each loved and had brought us each inscribed copies. To this day, that copy of The Compleat Crow is one of my most treasured books. It was always so great to sit and talk to him and listen to him tell a story. You have my sincerest condolences.

Better late than never... Happy new year 2012
Wow, I hadn't realized it had been that long ago. 13 years. Egads! Although I was never a prolific poster, I agree it's a bid sad that there's not more activity here. I always enjoyed reading everybody else's posts. And occasionally chiming in myself. I wish I'd been able to make it to a KeoughCon to meet more fellow fans, but such is life. I'm hoping to see Brian & Silky again in September at KillerCon if all works out. And maybe Dave too if he has any thoughts about going. Here's hoping you and the rest of the Lumley extended "family" have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

HWA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
That is great news! Man I wish I could be there for that presentation. Also congrats to William F. Nolan! Another great guy who deserves it.

It's just you. Oh wait, you mean the young priest . . . Well he certainly likes to play in shows with alien themes. He was in the Taken mini-series and was also in The 4400.

KillerCon LAS VEGAS, NEVADA 2010
My birthday falls in there so hey that sounds like a plan to me.

Star Trek - 2009
I saw this last week. I'd heard good things about it and I wasn't disappointed. I agree with your take on the McCoy character . . . aside from his first meeting with Kirk I thought he was channeling DeForest Kelley. They really HAD to do it as an alternate timeline thing or it just wouldn't have worked IMHO. Lots of room now to go in all kinds of directions. I wish Simon Pegg's Scotty had gotten some more face time though. I thought he did a great job too. I don't see a lot of movies more than once in the theater but I'd see this one again. Gonna try to catch the new Terminator movie over the holiday weekend. Don't have quite as high expectations for it.

NECROSCOPE SPECIAL EDITION...
Here's mine . . . Either I have a crappy camera or I don't know how to get the lighting right. The page isn't actually brown.

NECROSCOPE SPECIAL EDITION...
Well I got mine 2 days ago but was not home to see it until today. I got the 'C' copy. The interior illustrations are awesome. I had no idea what to expect since I've never owned a "lettered edition" of a book before, but I'm pleased with it. Seeing the illustrations makes me want to read it again for the umpteenth time, so that's just what I'm going to do. I was actually hoping to get a bigger hand-drawn illustration from Bob Eggleton . . . but believe me, I'll take the one he drew. It's definitely going onto my "special" shelf.

Hallo??
I do remember the name . . . which is pretty good as I don't remember what I had for lunch yesterday. Welcome back.

Necro Knowledge 2006
I think it was in one of the E-Branch series books . . . maybe even the last one. It's in one I've read fairly recently. If that helps anybody.

Brian's Mythos work
Exactly my opinion also. The Burrowers Beneath & The Transition of Titus Crow were the books that introduced me to Brian's writing and hooked me. But I would also tell anyone if they've tried the Crow novels and didn't like them to definitely try the short stories. The Compleat Crow is still my favorite BL book.
