Necroscope and Wamphyri: Chapter Titles (Group Read)

Featured Replies

Okay, here's the deal. Maybe more will join in once they see how easy this is going to be. As I said before, this requires no lengthy posts or heavy thoughts. Hell, it doesn't even require you to read the whole book if you don't want to! If you're like me and have read these two books more times than you care to count, you probably won't. But that's not to say that you can't read them if you'd like.

First off...If you paid any attention at all to where you are, you'll notice that we are in Book Discussions. You know what that means? No Spoilers!! Anyone who'd like to start a discussion or comment thread regarding plot or other thoughts, feel free to start a new topic in

The Source.<--EDIT--Remember The Source? :(

The objective: I have always liked the chapter titles given in the Necroscope series; particularly in the original five. What? Did I say five?! Well, yes, there are five books detailing the life of the original Necroscope, but...only the last three have chapter titles! So that's it in a nutshell. We're going to name the chapters in the first two Necroscope books.

There's a difference in the first five (last three of the first five) and the rest of the series though. Normally they are one to five word titles wheras the rest of the series (Blood Brothers and beyond) give more of a lengthy description of what is to follow in the coming few pages, complete with slashes separating titles of segments within each chapter. I'd like to stick with the one to five word titles as much as possible with these to make it more in keeping with the last three of the first five.

Here are a few guidelines I have come up with for this...

1. Once you have titled a chapter, you must wait until at least the next two have been named by someone else before titling another...more variety of creative thinking that way.

2. Keep them in succession so they can be referred back to by anyone who wants to check 'em out while reading the books in the future. (As far as I know, this is just for fun and will not be used for future printings of the books. :D )

3. Serious titles only!! Anyone can come up with a witty smartass title...let's try to keep this serious and not make a mockery of the Man's work! The first chapter will be named by yours truly in the first post below. Here's an example of what I'm saying not to do.

Necroscope/Chapter One: A Big Gulp Slurpy for Dragosani!

...see? Funny, but not what I'm lookin' for. :D (It might be okay to start a thread for this type of thing in Games and Fun, but that's ultimately up to the Big Man [Wolfe]). :D

4. Just to reiterate...No spoilers or comments. Keep this thread for titles only. Again, an example is provided in the post below.

Like I said before, if you've read these enough times, all you'll have to do is look in here to see which chapter is next to be titled and read that chapter. Heck, you can even attempt that if you've never read them! Not much fun in that though! :D

Here's some examples from The Source...

Simonov

Debrief

The Perchorsk Projekt

The Gate To...?

Wamphyri!

Mobius Trippers

Have fun... smile.gif
