November 9, 200124 yr comment_18145 One book out of all thirteen Necroscope books. No runners-up or draws. Which one's the best and why? Report
November 9, 200124 yr comment_18147 I would have to say for me it was Bloodwars. All those different Wamphryi Lords and Ladies... the ruthless bloodletting.... the survival of the Travelers during such a dangerous time. The struggle between Nestor and Nathan and the eventual settling of it. The book is priceless! Report
November 9, 200124 yr comment_18148 Blood Brothers Feel the slobbering weighty power of that black volume in your hands! We get to explore a new world, delve into wamphyri history and closely follow a burgeoning necroscope. It's the essence of the thirology which is a word I just made up to describe a thirteen volume novel. The battle in Deadspawn began and concluded too quickly. The Vampire World books are a war story -- 3000 pages of battle and 'romance'. Plus Vasagi and Canker! It's a wodge of brillness so good there's two more after it. And the paper is less chewy and doesn't stick to your teeth as much as the other books. Report
November 9, 200124 yr comment_18149 Ahhhhhh this is not fair, only one.....okay Necroscope the first, the best and Dragosani and why only one book..... [ November 09, 2001: Message edited by: deano ]</p> Report
November 9, 200124 yr comment_18150 IMHO, the best book is (without any question) the first book NECROSCOPE for without the first book there would be no further ones.... Report
November 9, 200124 yr comment_18151 I agree with Deano.. why one book? Hmm, my druthers though I suppose would be cripes, I can't pick...ok.... :-> TheLastAerieBloodWarsBloodBrothers!! Whew! Because it is the best series of the series! What?!? It's one title sentence... Report
November 9, 200124 yr Author comment_18152 Always pushing the bounds, Ema...sheesh! Why? Because I say so, that's why! Can't make it too easy! Plus, the best series topic has already been covered. Report
November 9, 200124 yr comment_18153 Drats! lol Ok then... I'll have to say Blood Brothers as that was the start of the best part of the series! Those three books sunk the hook in so deep that like a leech it is a part of me! Report
November 10, 200124 yr comment_18155 No question for me - Deadspawn Does that weighty tome feel like a tombstone? It certainly signalled a death - or maybe - a change ! It was the end of an era. We see the Necroscope at the mercy of himself - his magnified emotions. That's a powerful thing. As Harry's unwelcome tenant begins to exert it's influence on him, do you hear yourself willing Harry on? What? Not even with Paxton, at the end ? Of course you do ! This book is my favourite, because it is (was) the culmination of the Necroscope saga - it was the end that no-one really expected. And that tag line from the cover 'Even the Dead are screaming now...' Report
November 10, 200124 yr comment_18156 DEADSPEAK......... Because........ well, i love the entire plot really, if you've read it, you understand. Report
November 10, 200124 yr comment_18157 Has to be Necro #1. Ghosts and gadgets, ESP and esp. A great mixture of James Bond and vampires. Report
November 11, 200124 yr comment_18158 I guess The Last Aerie wouild be the best in my opinion. All of those Wamphyri and their battles... Brian at his best IMHO. Report
November 11, 200124 yr comment_18159 Damn you all... every time I read a post I agree, and change my mind! Nothing for it, I'm gonna have to start the whole series, all 13, from the start again!! where'd I put those Pringles.... Report
November 11, 200124 yr comment_18160 for me it has to be the 1st of the Vamire World Trilogy, cause that was the first one that got me reading the rest. Sorry can't remember the title of the top of my head. Report
November 12, 200124 yr comment_18161 It would have to be NECROSCOPE as it was when i first met Harry Keogh, Boris Dragosani and the Wamphyri. (i started off liking Dragosani more than Harry but that soon changed ) Brings back alot of good memories that surround reading it too. Its really hard to judge the books because they kept getting bigger and better. But this is my favourite. December 5, 200124 yr comment_18166 I would say the Source: I really thought it opened up the Vamphyri... at least to me Report
December 5, 200124 yr comment_18167 For me it has to be Necroscope. If it hadn't been so good, I may not have read any more....... Report
January 11, 200224 yr comment_18168 I would have to say, the best one is the first one. Necroscope 1 all the way! Report
February 18, 200422 yr comment_18169 The Source, it brought the wamphyri to life where in the first 2 there were mere echoes and memories of the thing in the ground.. but the souce brought all there passions into the now..if only it went into more details on the lords of that day i like the sound of lascula longtooth is it can't quite remember. sorry for the change in topic but my favorite series was the vamp world series..the lords and ladies from turgoshiem were kick ass but they wouldn't of stood a chance against any of the original wamphyri, who terrorised the lidesci's..
