July 29, 200421 yr comment_19081 Brian made a mistake, or not him then the publishers did. In Defilers, page 621. It is talking about when jake is about to kill off szwart's deadspawn. Well, it said Liz instead of Millie. Liz was at E-branch HQ.. only person around him was Millie. "Right, said the other. As for who I am: Wallace Fovargue is who I was. Then Szwart killed me 'cause I was . . . well I was hinterest in the woman. Jake looked at Liz . "Wallace Fovergue?" "An Ugly, diseased little dwarf," she told him, picking the reason for Jake's question right out of his mind. ect ect ect Liz wouldn't know anything about Wallace, she never he heard of him, none of E-branch besides Millie knew anything about him... Just thought I'd bring that to Brian's notice, more then like it isn't his fault but the pubisher's. Anyway, I still got one book left in necro saga left to read. Hope's it's as good as all the other's... Report
October 28, 200421 yr comment_19082 Yeah I noticed that too. I suppose these things slip through the net now and again. It's the first blooper I've actually come across. so not bad going for 13 novels in the series. Report
October 28, 200421 yr comment_19083 Shoot, almost all books have mistakes like that. That one's actually fairly minor compared to some of seen... Ian Goodfly, for example. The worst I've seen in awhile is from King's final Dark Tower book. One of the main characters was so grief stricken by her husband's death that she jumped to her feet! Problem is, she hadn't had legs from the knees down for quite a few years! Report
October 28, 200421 yr comment_19084 I recently reread The Last Aerie and during the conflict between the dead John Scofield & Tod Pretiss, somewhere in all of that, they refer to someone known as John Prentiss. That all I've ever noticed and retained. Report
October 29, 200421 yr comment_19088 Nathan ! ------------------------------------------------ The worst I've seen in awhile is from King's final Dark Tower book. October 29, 200421 yr comment_19089 He was just kidding  Right N8!! Just a joke. Just trying to get someone. Eddie don't die. If eddie dies how does Odetta jump to her feet if she don't have any? There must be someone else with out feet. That's it. Report
October 30, 200421 yr comment_19090 It's in a different situation entirely, but she does jump to her feet in that book! Report
June 5, 200521 yr comment_19091 hubris, i believe it was just another one of those little typos that happen when your fingers are on a keyboard for way to long. you start to think faster than you can type and thats what happens Report
June 5, 200521 yr comment_19092 There's this one thing I've been wondering about for a while.. When the guy who hypnotized Keogh (Anderson or somethingl like that) disappeared in TLY2, why didn't the E-Branch just use a locator to find him? Report
March 10, 200620 yr comment_19093 I think one of the funniest mistakes I've seen seen is on the back of my copy of E-Branch: Invaders. Somebody got Goodly's name wrong, it's printed as Goodfly. Well, it made me chuckle. Report
March 16, 200620 yr comment_19094 Ive noticed a few minor mistakes in some of Brians books but I reckon considering the unbelievable amountof books hes written,as a percentage the mistakes are very few and far between, besides we all make mistakes and the biggest mistake King ever made was becoming an author!!!!! Report
March 17, 200620 yr comment_19096 I have also noticed alot of typos in the american versions of all the books I didn't even notice the one in question, I've only seen spelling errors. (some worse than others) Report
March 21, 200620 yr comment_19097 Guess it doesn't say anything about negativity regarding someone other than Brian... at least not specifically! Kick ass!! That King, what a fock-wad! If I had a nickel for every minute I've wasted reading his books I'd have nothing 'cause he sucks so bad I've never read a word! But we better git back on topic here and open a "Should Never Have Written a Book" thread. Start it off with the King, of course. Make sure to sit that Harry Potter bee-otch closeby! Report
March 21, 200620 yr comment_19098 N8 be very careful where you go with this, I'm with you on King but you diss JK one more time and I'm gonna hunt you down and cook your sorry ass in your own restaurants kitchen!!!! As for typo's, well I'm gonna hunt them down too and kick there sorry asses as well... [ March 21, 2006, 05:26 AM: Message edited by: The Helm ] Report
March 21, 200620 yr comment_19099 Huh? You didn't notice the dripping? Man, there's sarcasm running down the walls and pooling on the floor in that post! Admittedly King has gotten a bit more mellow in the last ten books or so, but he's still (in my opinion) one of the most tuned in writers in history. Whether you like him or not, it seems a little naive to say he should never have become an author. His influence already matches or overshadows just about any of the greats you can name, and he ain't even dead yet. As for Rowling... I'll give her her props, she came on extremely strong... but the last two have not lived up to my expectations. Report
March 22, 200620 yr comment_19100 Obviously I see it now!!! Still not a king fan myself but I suppose you have to admire his body of work and the fact he's probably the most globally famous author of his generation and still going strong... Right I'm completely off topic now and I'm going to stop and give myself a darn good talking too... Report
March 22, 200620 yr comment_19101 Aw, we're still on topic... Originally posted by Dave Black:...besides we all make mistakes and the biggest mistake King ever made was becoming an author!!!!! That has to be a typo! Report
March 24, 200620 yr comment_19102 Shouldn't knock King, my friends He can't help being a factory writer now! Has anybody considered that it may be the printer's typo's & not The Master's? __________________________________________________ "Best be thought of a fool, than open your mouth and have all doubt removed"!! March 24, 200620 yr comment_19103 No book is ever perfect, unless we send them off to some higher beings to edit the spellings, human error will allways be a factor. I think with Steven King, he has certain hits and flops. I think his publisher made him churn out the generic crap sometimes. But then there is the Dark Tower series (we are not worthy) that was mind blowingly excellent, and so from the heart. People may not like me for saying this but The Dark Tower series tops some of Brian's book for me. Report
April 13, 200620 yr comment_19104 my friends and i have had this conversation many times before. we have discovered that the ammount of typos is different by genre. fantasy is rife with them, scifi is bad, horror is ok, and in romance its almost nonexistant. it just goes to show that lonely housewives rule the world. April 14, 200620 yr comment_19105 after writing this i got on the train. i then pulled out my (stop it you perverts) copy of deadspawn and started reading. it is the US printing. i found 17 typos in the 25 pages or so that i read. Report
