Karen versus Wratha versus Devetaki

Featured Replies

Let`s compare the two greatest vampire ladies:

-Who would win in physical fight?

-Who is hotter to you?

-Who is greater Vamphyri?

-What would happen if Wratha`s band escaped from Turgosheim while Karen was still living in her tower?

Edited: I have finished Bloodwars and Devetaki seemed to be greater than Wratha, she didn't let her lust and anger get in her way.

Are you sure? Wratha was more ruthless. Karen didn`t harm her lovers.

Not sure about Devataki, I am currently reading The Last Aerie. Is she that impressive?- I have browsed through Bloodwars, and it seems she is going to replace Vormulac, but those Turgosheim Lords are not as vicious as Old Ones overall.

I won't spoil either book for yatoo badly ... just keep reading grin.gif

Karen struck me as more womanly than the other Wamphryi Ladies but when her blood is up?.... watch out.

What she does to Lesk the Glut is classic.

Plus she had to survive during the "Olden days". One tough lady I think

I must admit that I am surprised by Canker`s portrayal in Last Aerie. He seemed pretty one- dimensional in previous book. And this book is very dark, especially Nestor`s part. I like it.

In a fight: Though Wratha does tend to go completely insane, im gonna have to go with a member of the 'old' Wamphyri. Karen would probably have the edge.

Hotter: Wratha. Mmm. Thats when she isnt in a 'bad' mood ;)

Greater: Difficult. Going on the principles on what 'makes' a good (or bad) Lord or Lady, theyre both pretty close. Both were devious, Karen to the other lords in the battle for the dwellers garden, and Wratha...well to pretty much everyone except Nestor. And even he didnt get off lightly.

What would happen: The old Lords and Ladies would see them as a threat, band together, and a major bloodbath would ensue. Then, finally knowing about the other Wamphyri and territory in Turgosheim, would probably seek to conquer it. Mwuahahah!

Hotter - Karen (although as sick as it may sound Karen and Wratha together would be even better)

Physicly - Wratha when she wraths

Greater Wamphyri - Karen no contest

and as for the fleet out of Turgoshiem they would have been slaughtered

Hello all....

been a while since I've read the entire series and intend to pick them back up NOW. However, I hope you experts here can tell me which book I need to look in to find the Karen/Harry scene? ;) Trying to show a friend of mine how absolutely inventive Brian is, in EVERY way.....!!

Okay, I have finished Bloodwars and you can add Devetaki into the contest. How she handled Tzonov is classic for me.

This is a fantastic topic, I'm disappointed to have discovered it so late!

Who would win in a physical fight? I think Wratha.

Although Karen could certainly look after herself, I think Wratha would. Devetaki was a more cerebral Wamphyri Lady, and so would prefer to stand back I think (although admittedly as a thrall she defeated her egg-rival armed only with a small knife, while the other girl had a gauntlet). I think Wratha would win any physical battle with Karen or Devetaki due to her fragile sanity which would amplify her aggression, and her transformative 'wrath'.

Who is hotter to you? Karen seemed the most sensual, attractive and friendly of these Wamphyri Ladies. Devetaki's intelligence is sexy but she has half a face! Wratha was certainly hot as a Szgany girl, but her experiences have left her with a damaged personality. The idea of her transforming into an evil witch-hag is also off-putting.

Who is the greater Wamphyri? I think Devetaki is the most powerful of these Ladies. She's clever, devious, literally two-faced (!) and utterly unscrupulous. As you see in Bloodwars, her ambition knows no bounds. Karen may have survived in the time of Shaithis and Lesk the Glut etc, but Devetaki outwitted Maglore and Vormulac, and over forty Turgosheim Lords and Ladies. Karen was also too soft-hearted (comparatively) for a Wamphyri Lady and never had those kind of ambitions or sense of cruelty. Wratha was also ambitious but too hot-headed and consumed by her fragile sanity and powerful emotions to be truly strong. She lost control of her renegades after leading them out of Turgosheim, and did not have Devetaki's ability to continue to manipulate her peers to do what she wanted, while disguising her own motives.

What would happen if Wratha's band had found Karen? I think there would have been a rivalry between Wratha and Karen, she would have immediately threatened Wratha's control over the group had they allowed her to keep her stack; however, I can't really see her forming an alliance with anyone in Wratha's band- as a non-Turgosheim Wamphyri, Karen would have been an outsider from the start. I suspect, the Wamphyri being as territorial as they are, Wratha's band would have killed Karen and her thralls to take her stack, outnumbering her as they did.
