July 18, 200620 yr comment_20872 Not bad eh? They order it for you from their American suppliers, takes about 2 weeks provided it's in stock Report
July 19, 200620 yr comment_20873 After no luck in my local shops I went to Bluewater hoping to get a copy but still no joy! Just finished reading all the rest for the second time and I'm really hungry for this one now! Report
July 20, 200620 yr comment_20874 I was being sarcastic, Silver. Just imagine it! Parting with that hard earned (?) cash and waiting for 2 or 3 weeks to be told, basically, Sod Off, we don't have it!! Sends me into raptures every time!! Dunno 'bout you? Iknowyourname has my sympathy. __________________________________________________ “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds” Spike – (The Uncivil Servant @ Taunton) Report
July 20, 200620 yr comment_20875 I know what you mean but I actually don't think it's a bad price for a hardback, delivered across the pond. They tell you when you order it if it's in stock or not so you know how long it'll take, they said 2 weeks to me and it was there in 2 weeks. And as for waiting 2 weeks for it to turn up on time and in perfect condition, it did send me into raptures! I have my copy, don't have to scour the bookshops anymore getting irrate that they don't have it in, worth £17.99 to me Report
July 21, 200619 yr comment_20876 I agree Silver..in a year or two you'll be paying more than that to buy it if you can get it.. look at the price you have to pay for the early necroscopes now.. £17.99 is a bargain, although I bought ours in March (pre-order) and only paid £14.41 each. Report
July 22, 200619 yr comment_20877 Guys, I'm not complaining about the price of books. Hell, I take good care of mine and don't begrudge paying for them. It's just the level of service - 'customer awareness' - that pisses me right off!! __________________________________________________ “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds” Spike – (The Uncivil Servant @ Taunton) Report
July 22, 200619 yr comment_20878 lol I know what you mean. I ordered a book for a friends birthday 3 weeks before her birthday. They kept on saying it was coming but they had difficulty finding it in the USA. Eventually Amazon cancelled the order 2 months after her birthday. I went on and bought it off another seller on Amazons site for less money (£22 instead of £26) and it arrived yesterday after only 2 weeks. at Amazon but that I eventually got it for her!! Report
July 23, 200619 yr comment_20879 I loved it. I'd say more but I'm afraid I might be giving something away. Will say, THIS CAN'T BE THE LAST ONE! Brain Lumley, I'll have your guts for garters boy if you don't write some more Necroscope. LOL Report
July 23, 200619 yr comment_20880 Just finishing off re-reading Whamphyri, will be on to the source tomorrow then only 12 to go lol I should get to the Touch the week of the Keoghcon or that's what I'm hoping. Report
July 24, 200619 yr comment_20881 Already have mine, but like J & P, am waiting until I've finished re-reading Necro Saga all over again. Am on Bloodwars - just started. __________________________________________________ “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds” Spike – (The Uncivil Servant @ Taunton) Report
July 24, 200619 yr comment_20882 I'm on Page 170... Chapter 18! No spoilers from me though. Nope.... Not... giving...anything....away! **Canker runs out of the room using both hands to cover his big mouth** Report
December 19, 200619 yr comment_34159 Just finished The Touch, and Brian has definitely not lost his touch. It was excellent. So Brian, what's next on the agenda. (The Dweller volume 1 perhaps?) Report
December 21, 200619 yr comment_34174 Ive got The Touch on my Xmas list. If Santa is not forthcoming then I will have to get my short arms into my deep pockets. Mind you reading through this thread some of you have missed a trick as its only £10 at Amazon. Report
December 22, 200619 yr comment_34187 I'm more than willing to part with my copy of The Touch. I didn't find it to be to my liking. Mind you, I'm in the US, so it'd take a bit even if I shipped it right away. Report
December 26, 200619 yr comment_34205 bloody brilliant as always! i loved it! can't say anymore than that really! Report
December 28, 200619 yr comment_34213 Well, I finally got a copy!!! I've avoided reading this thread b/c I didn't want to know anything til I read the book. Started reading it today...already totally intrigued and I haven't gotten past ch 1 yet...lol. :D Report
January 11, 200719 yr comment_34334 I have an advance copy. I know a couple of others also have a copy of the advance, but I thought I would start a thread. I've got another book to finish first (which I am forcing myself to do), and then onto the touch, which I've already read some of. goosebumps? yes I think so. Tops Tops, surely that's not an advance reader's copy of the UK publication? If it is I'm on the phone ... we want some... Report
January 12, 200719 yr comment_34337 Ok so I finished it about a week ago. I LOVED IT! I did kinda miss the whole vampire thing, but this was awesome on it's own! I have read some of his other works, besides the Necroscope series. I'm going to re-read some of the other series and then I"m gonna read it again! I am sure I"m gonna love it just as much the second time around! As for the popularity of Brian over here in the states...I am trying extremely hard to get other people to read his works. I've loaned a couple books out (no Necroscope ones...they might have to pry them from my cold, dead hands first...lol) and I'm kinda suggesting his books to people who ask me for advice on a new read. At least maybe I'll make him popular among my troupe of people! Report
January 15, 200719 yr comment_34348 Yeah, I try to get people to read Necroscope (originally by loaning them out), but after the third time of replacing the series, they're just gonna have to find somewhere else to get the books. Report
January 15, 200719 yr comment_34349 I like the Solaris web site's quote on the new paperback. "The Touch is the long-awaited start of a brand new Necroscope series, which is sure to delight his massive fan base" It sure would! Silky, I think Tops has the same ARC as me from TOR. Could be wrong though knowing him... Report
