September 13, 200520 yr comment_22780 OK fair comment JP. I'm just glad I can finally vent my spleen about what is surely the greatest horror/fantasy saga of our time. The Necroscope series makes Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles pale in comparison. Although I think Neil Jordan did a stellar job of adapting Interview With The Vampire. You made a very good point about jumping right into an action scene at the start. Maybe they could use the Yulian Bodescu massacre as a set up and tell Harry's back story in flashback mode. Just an idea to hook you in right from the start. An even MORE extreme idea would be to make Necroscope 1 & 2 as a prequel - how controversial! Does anyone have ANY information regarding the Necroscope film? Is there a director on board? Is there even a script? We've done all this debating and no one seems to have a clue yet. If I was to choose a director to make the film it would be Alex Proyas, of The Crow and Dark City fame. I think his visual imagery and style is just what Necroscope conjures up in my mind. Keep posting - it's very interesting to hear other peoples ideas! Report
September 13, 200520 yr comment_22781 Yeah, what John Paul said. Plus in my opinion, the first two books were just as exciting as the source and if they were done right theres no way people would think they were boring. And thats what it comes down to really isn't it. Doing them right. Any Necroscope movie would be great if it was done right. But then again 'right' is only a matter of opinion as well I suppose. Personally I like your thinking christ2819 on Alex Proyas. I've never seen Dark City but The Crow had a dark feeling to it which is how i'd like Necroscope to feel. Even darker was Sin City. Who was that? Rodriguez? That sort of darkness suits the Wamphryi. Also the music from Sin City was very grim and foreboding and the narrative worked really well. I reckon that style would do Necroscope Justice. Report
September 13, 200520 yr comment_22782 You've never seen Dark City Elior? Damn you'd better rent it and watch it..I think it's brilliant.. one of the first DVD's I bought many moons ago.. If you liked the Crow and Sin City you'd love Dark City I'm sure. Report
September 15, 200520 yr comment_22783 Dark City certainly has the feel of what I'd like a Necroscope film to have. The claustrophobic darkness, impending dread, and deep, deep mystery. The Sin City comparison though, is spot on. Aside from the (intended) comic book feel of the movie, it has a structure and design that would encapsulate Necroscope perfectly. Maybe Rodriguez would be the perfect director? If Alex Proyas wasn't available of course! On the other hand, the movie Stargate was all I imagined The Source to be. I definitely believe the producers were influenced by it in some way. As far as music goes, I could plump for the easy option and say I'd like Danny Elfman to do it, but after some thought, Alan Silvestri would be the man I'd choose. His work on The Abyss was phenomenal. Oh, and Elior - don't listen to what J&P said - don't rent Dark City, BUY Dark City! You won't regret it. I'm gonna watch it again now, I've almost forgotten how good it is. Report

December 8, 200520 yr comment_22792 Aside from Ewan MacGregor in the role of a grown Harry I would go with a group of unknowns. My temptation though would be to grab Robert Englund as Dragosani Report
March 1, 200719 yr comment_34798 The problem is that Dragosanis age in the novel is 26-32 years and not 50. Report
March 6, 200719 yr comment_34840 A young Steven Berkoff or Alan Rickman would've been ideal as Boris The Blade!!! Report
March 7, 200719 yr comment_34852 I think Jack Nicholas would be an awesome Canker...of course you'd have to die his hair, but he's played some awesome evil characters before. I honestly think they should look for a new face to play Harry, though. We need to have a performer we can grow to love, just as we did Harry. But maybe Ed Norton for Alec Kyle??? What do you all think? Report
March 7, 200719 yr comment_34863 Yah...a good younger Lardis What about Anthony Hopkins for Angus McGowan...?..An underpart but fitting...I think don't know why...*whistle* Report

March 8, 200719 yr comment_34874 lol yeah that's who I meant... Was also thinking Scarlet Johansen might make an awesome Wrathra...she's got the right look to her if she dyed her hair like she did for Superman Returns. If not, maybe as Zek? I read earlier where someone thought the same person should play Nathan and Nestor, but clearly the books say though they are twins, Nathan was pale colored, where Nestor was more gypsy looking... March 8, 200719 yr comment_34876 Am pretty sure I mentioned ages ago about the need for non identical twins to play Nestor/Nathan. Just can't find the thread. (That is IF the fils-s ever get that far!!) Report
March 8, 200719 yr comment_34879 Does that mean the Olsen twins are out? I would like to see a small part for Andrew Divoff. Not the best of actors but he can play a decent monster. Report

Olsen twins as in The Matrix????? I was thinking along the lines of The Thompson Twins :D Remember them?? There were 3 of them and they didn't look anything like each other. Report
