October 3, 200619 yr comment_33222 I was at KeoghCon this weekend which is an annual mini convention for Brian Lumley, there have been 6 of them so far. It's a chance to meet like-minded people from all over the place who love his books and it's a chance to meet the man himself! For more info go to the KeoghCon Forum on this message board or at the top left of the screen go to Necroscope convention. Report
October 18, 200619 yr comment_33442 In order to do Necroscope book one justice it'd have to be in either 2 or 3 parts. Part one: Ends when Dragosani becomes Wamphiri, or there-abouts. Following Harry as he learns to use the Moebius continnum, his unique friendship with the Great Majority, and the relationship between Harry, his wife Brenda, and E-Branch. Part Two: Harry hunting down the Vampiric Dragosani. Interesting to note, M. Night Shamalans The Sixth Sense (which a friend of mine gave a copy of the "Xtra Special Edition" another Brummy friend.) is pretty much Harry's early life. Almost right out of the "Resume of Harry Keogh" in books 2 and 3 of Necroscope. I love the realism of the Necroscope books. I also really 'um like Harry. Report
January 25, 200719 yr comment_34433 i agree with that but if you think about ti and do everybook that way then you will start rallying james bond for the most movies based on the fuwest things, there willbe like 14 movies for the first 5 books Report
January 25, 200719 yr comment_34435 I still think a massive tv series is the way to go, maybe a tie up with the BBC and a big American group like HBO, and you do each book as a 6 part drama and then you can just close each book nicely leaving room for a next series and after each one it's just down too it's success whether or not they make the next one.................. Report
January 26, 200719 yr comment_34452 It sounds like a good idea, but I think this medium is so restrictive. I honestly don't think they'd be able to get the scale of the thing right and do it justice; mainly because the budget required for a monster like this wouldn't/couldn't be met for TV. Look what they did with The Stand (the one by that American bloke!!) Report
January 26, 200719 yr comment_34453 Yeah but look at Lost and 24, there's a new breed of tv show out there thats getting bigger and bigger and is turning this type of medium into perfect veichles for something that needs to be a bit big budget.......I still think the American investment is needed to give it the financial backing and spice it up a bit...................Did anyone have the misfortune too see what Auntie did with there adaption of Dracula over Christmas..................that would be my main concern if just the beeb got involved because that was the most awful thing I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!! Report
January 26, 200719 yr comment_34461 Yeah, I was really looking forward to seeing Dracula, but it was just another lame retelling in a long line of weak vampire stories. Bring on the Wamphyrii!! Lots of blood and violence. Thats the way to go. Report
January 29, 200719 yr comment_34486 hey ppl, chris by the way the stand was by stephen king,,,, i so want them to make some films out of his dark tower books, they r gooooooood if you think about it some of the things coming out at the moment aren't that bad, look at lost, they manage to tell a lot of stories in one hour, we could do that with necroscope, not quite 6 eps a series but 10, sumt like that, have it on once a week probably on bbc2 (thats what they show all fantasy stuff on, doc who, torchwood, blahblahblah, even dracula at xmas,) get the bbc to do it cos they can do excellent stuff, but at the same they can do rubbish stuff aswell, i reckon we can do each book 10 parts, 1 night a week for 1 hour, start at 9 oclock, thats what time most late night drama's are shown, think of red dwarf, that was great. they could also make it in a certain way cos in the books there are a lot of exiting stuff and cliffhangers spread throughout so each ep each week can end on one of the cliff hangers, like one of the eps could end just b4 he goes to take down dragosani in the first book, all u see is like whoever plays harry call up the dead and the dead start marching past the camera offscreen and you hear the actor's voice doing a sililoquay to the audience sumt like, and that was it, i had called them up, next for that basterd dragosani, and then harry keogh walks past thge screen and it fades out another ep wud be when he is on the motorbike and it just comes out of the mobius continnum and you hear bullets and sum1 scream then it fades out later Report
February 18, 200719 yr comment_34676 Something that alot of people here tend to forget is that, for the most part, many of the characters are still relatively young in the first 2 books, then there's a huge 8 year gap between "Vamphyri!" and "The Source". Bill Nighy would make an excellent Goodly...for the E-branch trilogy. But not this early on. As for my contribution: Roger Fan for Chung http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0266656/ Also, as I mentioned in a previous thread, Jason Isaacs would be awesome as Shaithis. Report
February 22, 200719 yr comment_34717 hety, if u'ver eva watched stargtate atlantis u wud nkow there is a really clever, sort of bald scientist guy on there, i reckon he would be a really good person byut i dunno who for.. my list for him is darcy clarke minister responsible lardis lidescu and also he could do a vampire but not a really scary one, just a sort of normal one thats there for a while, sum1 like cankor or radu lycan Report
February 23, 200719 yr comment_34726 You think Canker or Radu are 'normal', huh? I'd hate to see what you think of as 'weird & subnormal'!!! Report
February 24, 200719 yr comment_34738 hey, at the mo i am working on making a sort of fan trailer for necroscope the movie, it will have me in it, im trying to get sdome fotage of friends but its not going down to well with a pixel camera that records 10 seconds of footage mroe on this as it comes Report
June 7, 200718 yr comment_35517 Ive just spent an hour or two going through this thread, and there is so many opinions on movie prospects, casting ideas etc. my brain is muddled now. all I can think of now is that while we wait for the movie I would love to see an animated series. Someone mentioned the jedi animation that was released-something like that, or, more to my liking an anime like Dragonball Z, or anything from Madman for that matter. This might raise afew hackles, but, i think some of the cult animes released have a great 'aura' about them(D Vampire Hunter, Blue Gender, even FF) Report
June 8, 200718 yr comment_35528 O.K. I've had afew hours sleep and a day of work, now I can recall what I was going to say. One of my favourite artists, HR Gieger, who did the set designs for Alien, Dune, does some twisted, mindblowing art. I'd love to see him design some Wamphyri, Warriors, Flyers, and Aeries. This would be awesome. My next hope, maybe in priority, is that Silky reads this and suggests it to Brian, if he hasn't already considered it. One can only hope. P.S. what do you guys think, as i cant recall his name coming up on any threads before.(i haven't read them all yet.) Report

Sorry to disappoint you mate, but this one's already been done to death somewhere in here. Giger would be my choice as well. The bloke's a weird freaky genius (and some). Report
June 23, 200718 yr comment_35677 yes their might be a eight year gap between the two books of Vamphyri and the Source but thats where they could make the Lost Years into movies b/c it explains what four of those years... Report
