necroscope film

Featured Replies

ok, this is for the newbies amoung us, and for the oldies who missed it the first or second time round, or anyone really! I know this hasn't been done for a while. The idea is to get a cast and crew together for a necroscope film. The time is right to cast again, because of new talent in the field of film.

I do have one rule, well maybe two, I think you'll all agree with me, NO BEN AFFLECK or JENIFER LOPEZ. - of course this is my opinion and not the opinion of the site, or the owner etc etc ;)

I think we'll probably argue about the casting of Harry, so we can leave that for now.

I'll start with my choice for director, and that would be errrr, David Fincher (I would like Marty to do it, but that'll cause me loads of grief which I can't be bothered with right now ;) ). Why you ask? Well I think he's one of the best directors of the moment, who's always trying new things, and going in new directions. ANd we need someone who'll inevitably go against the studio - he lost the battle for Alien 3, but that battle was lost before he took up the mantle!!!

Ridley Scott would do a bang up job, but how about Sam Raimi? Evil Dead Sam Raimi not Spider Man Sam Raimi.

As far as cast, I am stumped on this, I think Jeremy Irons would do well as Dragosani...How about Adrian Paul as Alec Kyle? hmmmm...that burning smell is me thinking about this.

i'm not too sure a necroscope film would be a good idea you would'nt be able to just do one you'd have to do them all. plus book to film never works out quite right there would be so much missing from the books, how would you fit it in a genre it would end up a action/horror/thriller/hardcore porn/gore-fest..

i don't think distributors would well... distribute it. mornin all hmm best get to college in a couple o hours.. or should i? (i say looking around sinisterly)

and who would bruce play??? Alec Guiness - he wasn't in Necroscope.

Lokust, I'm not sure I agree with you as film is a completely different medium to book, but you can hone down the screen play and take out anything that might make the movie drag (for pacing reasons), and no I'm not saying the book drags - it doesn't.

You could probably condense 2 or 3 books into 1 film without losing too much of the plot (heh heh, I lost the plot years ago!)... and of course this is all purely fantasy as Hollywood would never make anything as cool as this! So we can indulge ourselves as to who we'd like to direct/cast!

Ever since our early discussions, I can't think of Harry as anyone except the guy who played Martin in 'Game On' (thanks for that Scarlet!)

I'll just go with who you guys think who should play who.......I just want to see a film made!!! (only if its a great film made from a book like Lord Of The Rings and not like...say...Queen of the Dammed! - sorry to any one who liked that film, but the book was soooo much better!!)

I agree that Jeremy Irons would be too old for that part of Dragosani. It would worry me to put in well known actors, I think the only way to make a film like necroscope work is to put in mainly nobody's. But I think Tim Curry should do the voice of Thibor, however, he would have to work on the accent.

btw hello everybody. grin.gif

You mean to tell me that Tim Currys accent in that Michael Crichton movie with the Apes and the Volcanoe (sorry, as you can tell I forgot the name) wouldn't be good enough? (I jest! I jest!)

I like Tim Curry in it as well just do to his work as Pennywise in the It miniseries.

Jude Law would work I think, and even though he is a little old and wouldn't do this kind of movie how about Daniel Day Lewis?

And as far as I am concerned Bruce Campbell could play who ever he wanted to. Finally saw Bubba Ho-Tep and I have to say Campbell should win the Oscar for his work as Old Elvis.

i'd have to agree that jeremy irons would make a good vormulac and i think willem defoe would definately make a great wamphyri not too sure but he can be evil so he's perfect for any lord..

maybe janos...ohhh how about malinari..

I just realised I spelled Janos the way I would say it. :( oops!

As for Irons being too old, I always thought of Dragosani as being old, even though he's young... what are the chances that what he does possibly ages him in some way... hmmmm.... but I see the point, but we need IRONS - whatever.

Personally I don't think there are enough evil people in hollywood to play the bad guys - they're all too pretty. So I think it'll mostly be english dudes!

Oh, I think Christopher Lee should play Shaitan! What say you out there!
