Posted April 23, 200817 yr comment_37704 There are several sad moments in these books but I find the most depressing book was no. 5. I was particularly sad when Harry was going to try and reach out with his deadspeak to Brenda but decided against it. For me it was sad because it almost seemed like Harry had somehow managed to forget his childhood sweetheart. Then of course his meeting with the Dweller who had become a wolf where Harry started to cry. Bought a tear to my eye.
April 23, 200817 yr comment_37710 When BJ is brought to the moon by Harry....thinking of it...it still makes me sad. This little scene has a distinct beauty to it.
May 2, 200816 yr comment_37746 Yes, the scene with BJ and with Nestor's death are prolly the most saddest in my opinion. When Siggi's memory was erased was sad too.... a lot of tragedy. there was a shatload of sad stuff...

February 18, 201411 yr comment_42962 I never once thought of any parts of his stories as containing anything 'sad.' Â I do, however, think the stories carry real-world ideas about relationships and dealing with life and reality- I find it fascinating how he carries a lot of weight in issuing the fantasy aspects but it is based in hardcore realism- I think he's a master storyteller and I love every story he's written. Â He is one of my favorite authors! Â I think I have about 40 of his books physically on my shelf- hardback and paperback- just spent money on him to support his work a lot once I fell in love with the badassedness of the necroscope series. Â Hope Brian and his are doing well!
February 17, 20178 yr comment_43433 Started with a paperback and I was hooked. By the time I started looking to get all of the Necroscope series in hardback, I had to wait on reprints to finish my set. Love the story from beginning to end and end and end. Wish some director and production company had picked up the movie options a decade ago. If made right, the movie and following movies will start a whole new following. This series is the most detailed and evolving story I have ever read. Brian, prayers and long life to you and yours. Keep doing what you do best. There is no one better.
