December 1, 200817 yr comment_38524 Hey fellow Necro fangs. I'm marky, freshly bitten but overly squeezed. I just wanted to share this site with everyone. http://www.storycasting.com You look up the book of your choice and chose the cast you want in the movie. I started a Necroscope one if yer interested. @Silky. Oh glorious masters lady, thanks for the mega, super-cool comics I won on eBay. I wish I had the cash for the Suck bust. Damn this low paid work. The Devil don’t pay well. Bah! Report

December 4, 200817 yr comment_38541 The Derby Dumpling doesn't actually exist, there's no such thing. As brief as I can make it there is a pub/restaurant in Torquay called the Devon Dumpling that serves very nice food and a very good time was had there. Earlier this year I was with some of the same people in Derby, we were searching for somewhere to eat and decided that it would be great if Derby had a place just like the one in Torquay, in fact we decided that every town should have a ___ Dumpling. Hope that explains it for you! Report
December 4, 200817 yr comment_38542 Ahhh. I see. It must be a purveyors of tasty nosh for it to be rated so highly. Thank you. If your looking for a Dumpling to keep the cold out I would suggest the Clootie Dumpling. It's well braw! http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/clootiedumpling.htm Report
December 4, 200817 yr comment_38543 Is was a spring day in 1989, when I was at college, between classes. Knocking around the campus bookstore I came across this paperback whose title I couldn't - and therefore didn't dare - pronounce. "Wamphyri?" I said to myself. Curious, I bought it. And that was the beginning and end. A third of the way through the book I realized it was the second. Went out, caught up on the first and there went countless hours of vampirific enjoyment. I've re-read them all, devoured them like flesh. I even managed to aquire the West End Games Pen&paper RPG before they went belly-up. So it would be no surprise that I would end up here, at this posting board. Those stories have gotten me through many long nights, long flights, agonizing waits and lazy afternoons. The best vampire mythology out there, bar none. But to this day, I'm still not sure I pronounce it right. Good to meet you all, and cya around. - C Report
December 5, 200817 yr comment_38544 Hi Ceejay, that's a great tale of how you found your way here. What's interesting is that the name of that book was changed for publication in America, Wamphyri is the name of the British version, the American version was changed to Vamphyri! The content of the book is exactly the same, only the title was changed. So it was the British version that caught your eye not the American edition which is what you would have assumed with you you being American! Welcome aboard, and now a question - Do you prefer the British editions or the American ones? Most British people that I've spoken to about this prefer the British ones, and most Americans the American ones. However, as your first experience of Necroscope was British maybe you'll be one of the few that break the norm? Edited December 5, 200817 yr by Silver Report
December 9, 200817 yr comment_38562 hm.. I have to disagree here, the first publication of the second book i received, here in the states, was titled Whamphyri, not Vamphyri. That was back in 87/88, however, since that copy was destroyed by a younger sibling, i have since replaced it with the latter mentioned title, much to my dismay after having now realized it was a different published title. I have re-read all 13 books on numerous occassions since first discovering the first book in 86 and never even knew of the existence of British/American versions. I even collected the first prints of the comic books, and still, never knew there was a difference in the publications. Goes to show that one can learn something new every day in places least expected. Thanks for the information. Time to rehash my collection. P.S I say 13 books simply because I have yet to read "The Touch" Report
December 13, 200817 yr comment_38571 The only US editions, hardcover and paperback were titled Vamphyri! There was never a US edition, Wamphyri! Report
December 15, 200817 yr comment_38574 Heya folks. Sorry about my late reply, I've been stuck in a ice storm for a few days here in the northeast US. I don't know what to say, but the original I purchased *did* begin with the 'W'. The cover was the blue/black schemed wolf skull print. In fact, it was the same image they used for the Necroscope RPG box. I will dig and see if I still have it to make sure, but it became so worn and dog-eared that I'm sure I had to replace it. Still, if I can find it I will scan it and show you. Or it's possible I was hallucinating... hehe. And yes, it was my favorite. As was Faethor. He was definitely my favorite earthside Lord. Hope all is well with you all. Report
December 15, 200817 yr comment_38575 It must have been a British import, for both of you. You wouldn't necessarily have known it, you buy a book in any country and naturally assume it's an edition from that country. It would have had cover art by George Underwood rather than Bob Eggleton and would have been a skull facing to one side with massive teeth and loads of red and some blue threads coming out of it.
