Thanks to all the bots and spammers that are trying to register on the forum, I have decided to try something new.

 

When you are registering for the first time on the site you will now have to answer a question related to the site to 'prove' you are human and want to be here.

 

The questions are easy and the answers are simple to find on the site if you don't know them off the top of your head.

 

We'll see how this goes - if it eliminates the idiots - yay for us! If not, well, I'll come up with something new.

That sounds like a good idea to me, hope it works!

Just as an update for everyone, if interested, this seems to have been the solution to the problem. I have not had a single bogus registration or posting (to my knowledge) since we started using the question and answer method for new registrants. Sort of makes me smile a little bit...
