January 17, 200917 yr comment_38666 Hi all, anybody out there think there is any possible comeback for Faethor,he is such a huge character. How bout "Faethors Lost years",ye I know I'm grasping but who out there doesn't want him back..... Report
January 18, 200917 yr comment_38669 Hmm ...I find it more interesting that Waldemar never actually died. Report
January 18, 200917 yr Author comment_38672 Ahhhh possibilities.... Okay not enough of his story told, didnt faethor get his castle:confused: Surely there must have been some remnant left there of Waldemar when Faethor arrived and if so ,there would have been trouble that we know nothing of,enough for one book anyway. If Waldemar had known his "aerie"was taken over he wouldn't have been happy, territorial types that they are... Report
January 20, 200917 yr comment_38675 Waldemar may have died. Just because the details of it aren't known doesn't mean it didn't happen! Or maybe he didn't die, I guess we may never know! Report
January 20, 200917 yr Author comment_38678 If he died, how,if not??? Either way........a great story. Anybody else think ghost whisperer on Sky is complete rip off of Brians idea? There was another few years back with the guy from Lost, can't remember name of it,anyway, this has to be plagiarism. Report
January 26, 200917 yr comment_38692 Even though I said before that I didn't think a Faother return would work because he's in a good guy/bad vampire double act with Harry and you'd need them both for it to really work - which I stand by - I have been thinking that it would be interesting to know more about his past. I get the feeling there is a more untold told between him and Thibor, and what about his own experience as a fledgeling? How much did he endure, who was he before he was a vampire - or was he born one? Report
January 27, 200917 yr Author comment_38698 aaaaaaahhhhh,Silver, glad you changed your mind, yes there is a lot more to be told about Faethor, while I think Thibors tale was excellent and he is also a legend, there are endless possibilities for Faethors story . To hear about his "younger" days is a great idea but also we need to know how he came to be in Plotsei, where was he till then and what he was up to until that fateful night when he infected Harry. Perhaps a small portion could be given over to what went on in his mind when he was in Harrys head,he must have been Raging in there knowing he would have to leave and knowing the Necroscope was going to get the continuum back, thanks to him, ouch! Also,is it possible Faethor could yet return from where Harry left him, after all the vampire is tenacious and incomporeal minds have returned before. Report
January 29, 200917 yr comment_38712 Oh no Numasthrall, I haven't changed my mind. I would love to know about his past, but to know would take some of his evilness away from him and I don't believe he'd have the same kind of power anymore. If you could see him as a human in any way, he would lose some magic, some things are just best left unsaid. Report
January 29, 200917 yr Author comment_38714 Hmmmm I think not..... To say knowing his past would make him less evil is mistaken some of the most evil deeds in history were committed by Evil men and women, knowing this as fact doesn't make it any less evil,in fact the opposite applies because we wonder how another human being could do these things As for losing his magic by seeing him as human the way I would look at it is the power of his leech is only emphasizing his evilness and it would be fascinating to see if he wilingly accepted his total evilness, which it looks like,or if he struggled with it.Is it the human or the leech who decides ,surely evil has to exist before it can be emphasized. Report
January 30, 200917 yr comment_38717 Most men/women were not evil before being infected, the leech enhances the baser instincts thus altering the way they think and react, in my opinion the leech isn't evil either, it just acts on insticnt, doing what it thinks it must to ensure its survival. There is nothing to suggest Faother was an evil man, of course there is nothing to say he wasn't either, it's 50/50! I think you'd like to believe he was evil from the start, you may be right. I prefer to think he was an ordinaryish bloke. In fact I'd like to think that he was actually an upstanding member of the community, nobility or a knight or something who somehow fell from grace! February 5, 200917 yr Author comment_38736 Just back from few days away and no Internet ,ah well that's what I get for going to deepest darkest west of Ireland...... Yes Silver, perhaps you are right I do like to think of him as evil from day one,it's because he's just so damn good at it.Fair points about leech acting only on instinct. I prefer to think of Faethor as being a man at odds with everything and everyone around him who siezes the opportunity to become Wamphyri so he can avenge all real or imaginary wrongs done to him.As you say not a lot of men or women were already evil before their change, maybe this is why Faethor survived so long, because he was "naturally" evil. His ending on Earth did not end his power to influence events here, all I can hope is that his power to influence can extend to other times and places... Report
