Silky has recently confirmed that though Brian will no longer be writing novels, he hasn't retired completely and will still be writing short stories.

So which short stories would you like to see more of? The Dreamland series had quite a few great little stories in it, also the Primal Lands - that had some of my favourites. Not forgetting Titus Crow and his many short adventures. Would you like to see more of the old and familiar, or maybe something totally new?

Personally, I think there's scope for a lot more in the Primal Lands. I think there's room for more in each of them actually but I would most like to read more about wizzards, Llamia and strange old Gods/Goddesses who sometimes do come to the aid of those who trully believe.

Having said that, I'm sure I'd enjoy any offering from the Lumley pen!

How about De Marigny, another great character,I found his story almost as interesting as Titus Crow,it would be great to hear some tales of his before he met Titus or even after the events in Elysia

How did he fare when they eventually reached "new Elysia",did he stay with Titus or did he go adventuring again...

I'd also like more about Hank Silburhutte and his life, before Borea and after,so many different possibilities...

What a shame there's no more novels to come, however the short stories are every bit as entertaining.

Enjoy your "retirement" Mr Lumley, but if you get bored.....:)

My "dream book" would be a new collection of Titus Crow stories that take place before the events portrayed in THE BURROWERS BENEATH. I was delighted, when I recently bought ye trade pb edition of THE TAINT, to find that it included a tale of Crow from when he was a young man. But there is something special about the Crow tales to be found in THE CALLER OF THE BLACK (the first Arkham House collection) that had such a special charm to them, were so fresh and entertaining. Now that I am 57, I understand how one slows down with age, or finds that it simply isn't as interesting or fulfilling to write books as it was when one was young and full of energy & ambition; but when one had both talent and a world-wide following, I think it's best to carry on for as long as possible. I shall be writing Lovecraftian fiction until I grow ga-ga with wither'd age. So, yes, a new collection of tales featuring Titus Crow and de Marigny would be sublime! de Marigny himself is such a remarkable character, one senses his innate goodness and devotion to his friend. I am so looking forward to reading those older tales when the trade paperback edition of HAGGOPIAN is released!
