Necroscope or Wamphyri?

Featured Replies

This has probably been asked round these parts before, but...given the choice, would you prefer to have the powers of the Necroscope...or be Wamphyri!?

Of course it would be cool to communicate with the dead and learn from them and such, and the use of mobius doors would be a blast, but there is something just so alluring about the power and longevity of being Wamphyri. The only trade-back I can think of would be that you would slowly lose yourself to the leech.

Thoughts?

Don't wanna be a spoilsport, but I'd prefer o be a member of E-Branch.Being a Necroscope carries way too much responsibilities for me,to the living and the dead.I would imagine it carries a lot of emotional pain with it,where you cannot do everything for everybody.

Being Wamphyri, while they are the coolest creatures on the planets,it doesn't appeal to me to prey on weaker species.doesn't seem fair.

For me,being a member of E-Branch is the dream and my talent would be,pre-cog,oh to be able to catch a glimpse of what will be.Lotto, preventing serious crime, corrupt politicians(really needed at moment),getting the chance to fix things before they break,lotto....

Yes,E-Branch is the one for me.

*Sinister chuckle* Why is there even a question in the matter, for even the Necroscope came to the Wamphyri for answers. Also as said he became one of them soon enough. in fact there can be no question in the matter for one such as myself. Why as a son of Thibor of Faethor I could rip the very secrets of the Mobius Continuum straight from the steaming guts of any that had mastered it's power. As for the ability to speak with the dead, why? Again no need to speak to them when you can have their secrets without their whining.

The real downside to being on such as that is having to keep yourself in check throughout the ages... Lest some pesky esper figure you out and have a slew of mortals at your stoop armed with flame throwers. BAH! As far as loosing yourself to the leech, nonsense for you simply become one, nothing is lost that cannot be "lived" without. That is unless you go mad, or are the unwitting host of a flawed egg... Leprous wretches, if you were born on Starside/Sunside with such power they would assuredly ban you to this earth in FEAR of your great power. Yes, power, all men crave it...

I wasn't sure about this one until you talked me into it, you sly lttle DeVil.

Go on then, I'd be Wamphyri too. No choice anyway if the epilogue of Avengers comes true. Aaaaahhh!

its not what you have its what you do with it that is the point. the dweller was able to time travel and use the sun its self from its source! i choose to defend life and the afterlife. the wamphyri have power but at every one and everythings expence, i cannot allow such pain and horror to spread.

Very noble Scottish, and you are exactly right - if you have power it is your choice how you use it. Using your own example, the Dweller, he was Wamphyri but did not go about speading pain and horror, well only to other Wamphyri!

So you could be Wamphyri and still protect life and the afterlife if you chose to.

Bottom line, GOOD v's EVIL (exception to the rule, The Dweller). I'm good most of the time and a bit naughty a little of the time;).

Given the choice one must truly look at the pros and cons of each to fully discuss the answer. however we should not forget Harry jr for he has both pros and cons and we find that it may be better to be a normal human.

I would be like Harry near the end of his life, both necroscope and wamphyri with all the powers and urges that goes with it.Then i would eventually be a big fat giant leech like Jaba the Hut sliming in and out of mobius doors going and eating whatever i want.HAHAHA

As interesting as the Wamphyri are, they still tend towards less than noble pursuits. While extremely powerful, they gain respect by instilling fear in all they encounter. The Szgany do not love them but yes they will obey. It's all they've known to do. Their own thralls seek the means to overthrow them and when a handful of them unite, it's not out of genuine respect, but instead only to eliminate a common enemy.

There are enough positives to being Wamphyri, as several of you have pointed out, but I'd prefer to remain an uninfected Necroscope. To harness the knowledge of those who came before for the purpose of protecting the living from plagues and murderers. Certainly Harry was selfish in a few of his pursuits, but every person will submit to that on occasion, no matter what powers he or she has. The point, though, is Harry asked the dead to give him knowledge and they did, knowing that in the end, lives would be saved and wrongs would be righted.

Once Harry became infected, even the dead feared him. I'd prefer to keep all vampirism at bay and out of my system.

Wamphyri is how I see myself in my mind's eye Now; so of course I already wish for the physical/mental skills that I am jealous over when reading 'the Books'. I say it now, and, likely will as I die; like my predecessor from the Gate.

WAMPHYRI!!!

WAMPHYRI!!

WAMPHYRI!!
