October 10, 200916 yr comment_40375 Whom ever is the director he needs to read the complete necroscope series and get the same feel about the books as we all do:) Report
October 11, 200916 yr comment_40376 of course thats what we need is a director who will read the books, but i was naming a few people Report
October 18, 200916 yr comment_40455 but i still cant contain the excitement that comes with the anticipation of this series hitting the Big screen. Ive talked with people who complain "oh the movie didn't do follow the book, or it didn't do the series justice" oh how i hope that this doesn't happen here. I think we all would be disgusted if the movie falls flat.. and i hope that's why it has still not reached the production stage. That they are getting all the small wrinkles out, and makes this movie as true to the series as physically possible. I hate to say it, because im not a real anime fan, but i could so see this done in anime.. and or.. and this would totally kick the most rear possible... an anime series.. anywho.. i posted to agree that rob zombie would not only do this series justice, he would make it a legendary film that would last all time through all cones of light Report
October 18, 200916 yr comment_40457 Even if we never see a movie, I'd be quite content. A lot of the things that work so well in the book would either translate poorly to the screen, or be handled in a really poor manner. I've given the first book as a gift to several friends and family members, and they've all remarked about how clear and exciting the action is, so I don't think we could bear a movie that doesn't do it justice. December 7, 200916 yr comment_40810 Havent been on the site for a while, and I'm disappointed with the lack of progression for the proposed movie. With Vampire films coming out left and right, you would think that the film companies would jump at the chance. Maybe the violence and the fact that the vampires aren't pretty boys makes them wary of it. Report

That actually makes me WANT to see this come out so that we can have a Toilet... oops I meant Twilight, killer for those of us that don't like to see emopires (emotional vampires). Who has the option? How do we contact them to tell them that we'd like them to get to work on this? Report
December 9, 200916 yr comment_40816 dont get me wrong i would love to see the Necroscope in theaters, but i seem to remember the first Necroscope having very little "vampire involvement" i would be very hesitant to try and push it with the other "vampire movies" Report
December 9, 200916 yr comment_40817 A limited series would be the way to go. maybe a 2 or 3 year run. Then they could do it from beginning to end and everything in between. Report
December 9, 200916 yr comment_40818 dont get me wrong i would love to see the Necroscope in theaters, but i seem to remember the first Necroscope having very little "vampire involvement" i would be very hesitant to try and push it with the other "vampire movies" Well, since Boris Dragonasi is trained in necromancy by Thibor Ferenczy, a vampire, I think it is enough for an origin story. Thibor is the evil puppet master in effect behind Dragonasi's crazyness. You are right, though, that they have to get the right team of talented, NOT talentless, people to make these movies well. Report
December 10, 200916 yr comment_40820 an origin story is one thing. but if you really think about it, book pages condense on film very quickly. it would look like Thibor had almost no involvement on script Report
December 10, 200916 yr comment_40822 Not necessarily McSneak, I'd love to see it done as a move book for book with everything in it and nothing taken out, but it's a very safe bet that it won't be done quite like that. For example they could easily put Thibors full history in it, perhaps when Boris goes to talk to the guy in Romania whose name I've forgotten! (someone Girescu I think it is, Ladislau maybe?) Even though that information comes in book 2 I don't think it would be damaging to the story to include it and it would give you more, they could also elaborate on his excess' if they wanted to by showing scenes of blood crazed battles and vampiric behaviour. Report
December 14, 200916 yr comment_40871 thats not a bad idea. when you put it like that. i could very well see it pushed as a vampire movie. Report
December 14, 200916 yr comment_40872 I'd recommend the people who made The Watchmen. The movie pretty much followed the graphic novel (with a few tweaks here and there) almost word for word. If we had people like that, who LOVE the story and want to present it as it was written, we have a good chance of seeing all the elements come to life. Unfortunately, most Hollywood producers don't give a rat's ass about the original story, and want to change things so they can squeeze another dollar out of it. They may try to take the rating down to PG-13 to try to attract all the same viewers that attracted Twilight, and that in itself, would immediately ruin the movie. You can't tone Lumley down. It would be as stupid as having his vampire sparkle instead of sprouting tentacles and trying to violently propel itself from a burning host. And who do you think would make a great composer for the score? Or the soundtrack itself? The soundtrack should either be symphony or metal. Trying to use less violent popular music would not have the same effect. You want to scare someone? Show a Wamphyri on the battlefield, mangling corpses, with Slayer in the background. If that doesn't produce a disturbing image, throw in a few samples of "Cradle of Filth". It's inevitable that something this big will likely draw the marketing boys down to try to push an accompanying soundtrack. But if they do, they need to remember that this is a horror story and none of that bubblegum Top 40 crap will do. Even better is to have CoF compose a score for the film! Report
December 17, 200916 yr comment_40906 You know as i have been recently re reading the books lately... when the movie was first mentioned 9 which i have been waiting for ultimatley...( Why does "DAYBREAKERS" seem to feel "Lumley-ish") The teams, the vehicles ( i thought for a moment i was glimpsing E branch)...sorry off topic.... Please Mr LumleyI am gripping my seat eagerly waiting for it on the big screen) and I know we all want it done right...How do you explain "David Chungs ability to locate, and show him doing it, I figured digital when he has an item, vibrating ( like all matrix vision the item shaking his hand uncontrollably) trask recognising it as the truth of the matter, and explain it to a new e branch member who doesnt see the item alive in chungs hands at all... ( im hoping u have something better for working in tandem as they do in the books) The precogs..Goodley man I have been thinking how to show it on a screen..( so you may see goodley swagger) but rather then explain itfrom the first moment he begins to stumble ( the movie screen goes to a very fast moving glimpse of what he is seeing) like time lapsed and sped up, but used as a flah back( however breifly) as it cuts back to Goodly steadying himself..would that work? Alec Kyle's talent ( his would easily play out as a dream sequence as he comes awake) god he was one of my faverites ( b4 he was Keogh) and you know what i look forward to seeing the most ( in the continuum) the life threads of times past and future doors)I can read it and be taken by your explanation of it..but too see it ..alive on the screen.. Oh hell yeah Report
December 18, 200916 yr comment_40915 I have loved Necroscope forever, ever since my brother gave me the first book way back in high school. And I own almost every book now. I always tell everyone about it and make fun of those romance vampire books and gay vampire books (Twilight). Now there's a real chance of a movie, I couldnt be more excited. Time for real vampires to shine. I just hope the stay true or as true as possible to the original story. And I pray it doesn't fall flat on it's ass because of people who knew nothing of the books tried to make it. And it will hopefully have a good score of music with it. Kind of a mix of rock and atmospher music would be good. Even maybe a theme music with it. And they better not tune it down of violence or nudity. I just wonder who you could cast for the show. And for Boris I think Paul Bettany would be good. He seems to have the look about him and he's alread european. For Harry I would have no idea because the guy who plays Alec Kyle would have to take over after the first movie so both guys would have to be pretty good at displaying the character. And I'd like to see ol' Darcy Clark I really liked him. And of course Feathoer who I think was the coolest vampire. I just can't wait. Report
December 18, 200916 yr comment_40926 IM waiting to see Faethor ( ironically) even as Lumleys describes him will they include any of his "history"? Ahe just a glimpse of the battles themselves witness Faethor put Thibor down... You realise..There is probably enough there that Faethor could very well have his own movie( rofl) He is of all the wamphyri...My faverite (and i love the fact that Keogh, If u really think about it...became a Ferenczy ( and he kills vampires) Rids all of sunside/starside of most of them ( never claiming to be a ferenczy, but like echoes...Fess did say he would find away to get them back...unwittingly (though maybe not of Faethors actual doing) He did Report
