July 4, 200125 yr comment_7 Are there any of Brian's works that you are short of? Any particular editions that you've always wanted, but never had the opportunity to get? I know the net has loads of out of print book sites - but I'm thinking of something a little simpler... I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm always on the look-out for Brian's books. Even copies of stuff I already own. Its those times...when I stand in a second hand bookshop, looking at the BL books before me, thinking 'I've got this - but I wonder if anyone else would need it?' So - If you have any 'Wants', put them here. Maybe we can look out for each other... Report
July 4, 200125 yr comment_8 Excellent idea, SpOOk! I too have extras laying around. Awww. Maybe they can find a home. I just need The Lost Years...both books, both in hardcover, and both UK edition. Beyond that I'm just looking forward to...Deadspeak, Deadspeak, Deadspeak. And then...Deadspawn, Deadspawn, Deadspawn. (I speak of Tor hardcovers...for those who're thinking I'm nuts. ) Bring 'em on!! I can't wait. <FONT COLOR="#660000" SIZE="1">[ 07-03-2001 05:35 PM: Message edited 1 time, lastly by Nathan ]</font> Report
July 4, 200125 yr comment_9 Up till the moment I menioned it (just now) Ive been lucky in being able to find odds and sods... Though there are some things I'd really like... Hard covers (UK editions) started coming out at a time when I really couldn't afford em, so I'd love HoDII, Lost Years 1 & 2 and Invaers in hard cover... Also those rarities you need a second mortgage for... ...Caller of the Black, Horror at Oakdeene, Ghoul Warnings... And not forgetting all those collections that contain those little seen short stories ... But I'll keep my open for others... Report
July 7, 200125 yr comment_10 EBAY... EBAY... EBAY! Hey guys! I am filling in most of my collection at Ebay because the local bookstores only carry multitudes of books that are going to sell alot of, because of a "household" name or a new movie. I figure there is a bookstore in the middle of Buttscratch, Oklahoma just dying to get rid of a Brian Lumley book that is taking up room on their bookshelf when they could make money on the latest King, Rice, or Koontz release... so I try to do them a favor. And believe it or not I check to see who the high bidder is... I don't wanna get into a bidding war with someone from this site if I am picking up an extra copy and maybe one of my buddies here is looking for a hard to find edition to round out their collection. July 7, 200125 yr comment_11 I require,...no...want...uh...need....arghhh...why can't I fnd psychomech, sphere, amok  please, please please, please and one for luck pleeeeeeeease ps, please don't tell me they are being released in the USA, I know they are, but I still seem to frown alot. Hey N8, a friend of ours works at the forbidden planet in London, we'll ask him if he's got what you're after. If he has I'm sure something can be arranged <FONT COLOR="#660000" SIZE="1">[ 07-07-2001 02:46 AM: Message edited 1 time, lastly by deano ]</font> Report
July 7, 200125 yr comment_12 Ok deano, I won't tell you that in August, Psychomech will be released over here and that in October, Psychosphere will be. And I'll be quite sure not to tell you that the final installment, Psychamok, is slated for an August 2002 release over here. I mean - it would be just wrong since you asked me not to. Actually, the UK editions are just as hard to come by as the US ones from what I've seen, but someone was selling all three on ebay: [edit] but i just spotted the fact that someone named 'mazrah' has the high bid on both auctions going on right now! hmmmm...wonder if I know who that mazrah is... Good luck on the auction deano! Report
July 8, 200125 yr comment_15 Nice one Deano! Just to let you all know, if any of you didn't already, I'm always happy to help out with stuff like this, so I'm gonna print out this list of 'wants' (and whenever it is updated) and keep my eyes open for stuff... if I see anything from anyone's list, I'll buy it straight away and let you know... I'm gonna be making a trip to the Fantasy Centre soon, and they usually have a few goodies lying around! So, it may be a good idea to either post (or mail me direct) if you manage to remove anything from your wants list... but then, I could always put it on ebay if I get a duplicate! Happy hunting guys! July 8, 200125 yr comment_16 Which one are you missing Deano? I've got an extra copy of Psychomech if it's that one. I've also got in paperback, extras of... Tor...Invaders Hero of Dreams (Two copies) Deadspawn The House of Doors Malibu Comic--Necroscope #4 Not really anything rare, but these cost me next to nothing. I'd let them go for the cost of shipping only if anyone's missing them. Report
July 8, 200125 yr comment_17 Hi N8, I'd be willing to give a good home to a couple of items on your list Malibu comic-Necroscope#4 Hero of dreams email me with shipping costs and I'll send you a cheque to cover it, unless you have paypal. Report
July 9, 200125 yr comment_18 Deano, I have a spare copy of Psychamok if you're interested, and later this year (or early next), I should have a spare set of the dreamlands series (TOR editions). I wouldn't want to separate the series though. Pybob, I know where I can get you a copy of Invaders, UK HC, if you want it e-mail me and I'll see what I can do, although it'll have to wait until payday as I am skint after booking my holiday. Oh and it's cover price. Did someone mention HoDII HC? I know where to get that for cover price aswell. I'm missing Second wish and other Exhalations. That's it. Although I am building up my Ganley collection... I'm currently missing 6 HC editions. Then I'll stop. Although I will eventually get round to getting all of the wierdbooks with BL stuff that isn't printed anywhere else. I would like an origninal of Synchronicity or Something, but that is a rare find. Also a HC of ghoul warning would be nice. Cheers, Tops Report
July 9, 200125 yr comment_19 I guess I'll toss my hat into the ring as well. My wish list consists of only one book that I am missing. "Caller of the Black". Now I see this on E-bay quite regularly, however I cannot afford the 125.00 price tag at the moment. So if anyone of you happens to see it in the 50 or so price range then I would be the happiest Little Lumlian around. I wish I had extras around to help everyone else out, alas whenever I want to get an extra, my significant other whaps me!..lol. P.s. I think I am missing 3 & 4 of the Malibu Necroscope comics as well. Report

July 12, 200125 yr comment_21 Ohh double posting but :-Þ!!! NATHAN!! Thank you! Got the books yesterday and got a bonus! Your copy of Maze of Worlds signed by you & Brian and used for your bit on the Companion (and I don't mind the highlights at all!)! If you want it back since I already have a copy, I will send it.. but believe me.. I will treasure it! Needless to say, you are seeing a Very Happy Wacky Yank! :-D *Hugglesmoochies & HUGE hugglesmoochies to Scarlet.. just because :-D* Report
July 12, 200125 yr comment_22 LOL! Nah...I don't want it back. I'm glad you like. But I would suggest finding the other three Hero books before you delve too far into the first one. Wish I could've helped with those too but... Heehee...Cool! I got a "Hugglesmoochie". *blush* Report
July 12, 200125 yr comment_23 Heh heh, are you saying I should have a Want's List of my own and add the Hero books? Ohh, really can't wait now then! Maybe I'll just have to hold myself back (yeah right!) and read HOD's until I can get the other 3... Thank You again! Report
