Loved Baja. I hope he writes about the Collapse next, that should be good read.

Clickers was good as well. Got to wait for Shane to fill my box up to get ClickersII. Should be a numbered and a lettered copy in it as well as a lettered Ghoul!

That's right, your one of those box people. Unlucky you or lucky you, depends on how you look at it

Ghoul's still sitting there looking at me too

Just finished Brethren by Robyn Young. A great read about the Knights Templar etc, can't wait till August when Crusade is released. Check it out if you want a completley different easy read.www.robynyoung.com/

Currently in the middle of The Vampire Genevieve by Jack Yeovil (aka Kim Newman). This is the same Genevieve that appears in his Dracula books - Anno Dracula, the Bloody Red Barron etc. He wrote them for Games Workshop for their Warhammer world. Well worth a read.

Next up is Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett, I need something fairly light.

Just finnished reading The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Steven Donaldson. Well worth the read. I have also been reading Phillip Pulmans Dark materia Triology also worth looking up.

Hey guys, finally an 'elite', so i must post something here.

I didn't mind Cell, think it will make a good splatter film.

Deathly Hallows-I'm waiting for the library copy, I'm keen to read it but I don't think I would want to reread it. Not after Order of the Phoenix, too frustrating.(i know, I take it too seriously:rolleyes:).

Anyone read the Noble Dead books by Barb & J.C. Hendy? Good, addictive tale. I read the first two, looking for the third one now.

P.S. where is the thread for the pet pix.?

matman, the thread you are looking for... hmmm... perhaps it's a good time to start a new one, but probably best to start a new one in the retreat!

as for books... finshed Cell and thought it was a bit shite to be honest.

Now I'm reading They Thirst by Robert McCammon. It's really fecking creepy. I like it a lot. So much so I've had to buy my own copy as I'm borrowing from Dave Kendall. It really is one of the best vamp books I've read in a long time, and it's been a very long while since I had nightmares caused by a book :D Thing is, it's not even really started yet - 200 pps in...:)

Tops

Robert McCammon is great...his earlier stuff is really creepy! He's from Alabama. I enjoyed "Heart Shaped Box" and thought "Midnight Mass" was an interesting take on vampires. I found it hard to put down.

I saw "Clickers" mentioned which I will take on next! This a great way to hear about good reads...............

I'm still rereading Titus Crow at the moment, but I couldn't pass up the chance to get the Gunslinger Born comic run. I really missed the DT series. When I finished it I went back and reread every other book that was remotely connected in one way or another(from Salems Lot to Insomnia). This was quite refreshing, awesome artwork by Jae Lee and written by Robin Furth, sternly overlooked by Steve. I loved it, I think I'm gonna go back to The Last Gunslinger soon:rolleyes:.

Anyone not seen them, this lot of 7 books follows the events of Wizard & Glass. The next 5 take Roland, Cuthbert & Alain back to Gilead. Then there'll be 18 on the events surrounding the fall of Gilead and the battle of Jericho Hill.

Don't know how the rest will go, but seeing some of the original DT in a different light was, for me, bloody Aweesome.:cool:

get yerself a copy of They Thirst by McCammon - I'm still thinking about it now. nearly a year on.

I really did think it was that bad. I don't mind when a book is adapted to the big screen and they change some of it but I do very much object when they change the central theme which makes it mean something entirely different.

I could go on and on about what I didn't like in it but this is the book thread, not the film one so I'll just say that I thought that Will Smith was very wrong for the part, there was no aching sense of lonliness that I thought should have been there and the happily ever after ending was a hugh disapointment.

Right now I'm re-reading some Lovecraft, specifically At the Mountains of Madness but will continue with the others I have after. My brother has just started reading Lovecraft for the first time so I wanted to refresh my memory because he wants to talk about it with me, me being the only other person he knows to have read any!

i felt lonely watching the movie ;) that is until they added the woman and child. I liked the dog to - he should have won the oscar :)

I'll be starting either the nightworld trilogy or swan song in just over a week - I'll have some time on my hands and should be able to read all of em.

Currently reading 2 books, one on design patterns, and the other an Irvine Welsh, oh and some comics - the new buffy one is very good, as it the joe hill one - Locke and Key.

wow tis a massive thread :)

I've been reading Forge of Gods by Greg Bear. Just as amazing as ever this writer!

now onto the sequel, which is Anvil of Stars. it's good but very different, quite a unique perspective, and sometimes hard to get ones head around. But I like books that are out of the norm, and challenging.

Was recommended Emperor "The Gates of Rome" by Conn Iggulden, almost finished it and it has been a great read, taking you to the heart of the Roman Empire and beyond.
